I love these two because I’ll say it again they have human interactions and human faults and hash it out like friends. Momos “sorry for behaving like that” is such a good simple apology , because she made the choice to say those thing, sure she was swept up in her emotions but she still chose those hurtful words. Sure if she said “sorry for being like that” the subtext is I’ll chose better next time and try to keep tabs on my feelings, that subtext isn’t taking full accountability. So her saying sorry for her behavior is her acknowledge the fact she made that choice of words and regrets it

2024-11-06 15:54:23 +0000 UTCThere's a finnish phrase that pretty much translates to "Even the horse kicks out of love". It is usually used in the kinds of cases when for example kids crushing each other not willing to admit it are just bickering at each other all the time. It's a pretty common trope in a lot of school based media for a reason. Those kinds of intense emotions can translate in other directions if not allowed to be expressed in the right way.

2024-11-06 12:06:55 +0000 UTCLittle fun fact that's not making into the anime, according to the volume extras, Turbo Granny originates from a myth that during times of famine, people would abandon elderly women up in mountains to reduce the number of mouths to feed. Supposedly when travellers passed by these starving grannies would run after them for help. No clue if this is the origin of the irl Turbo Granny myth but it kinda makes her not wanting to abandon the girls' spirits sadder

2024-11-06 06:32:29 +0000 UTCHonestly i love how okarun’s presented. these kinds of social insecurities are delved into to the point of almost feeling uncomfortable, but it done very skillfully (like getting the right pressure during a message). It’s kinda refreshing because it’s pretty common for social outcasts in media to be treated like disney princesses. while okarun has a lot of goodness that shines through, it is often cloaked by ugly insecurities.
