2024-08-29 14:38:28 +0000 UTCI love the massive variety of abilities that are available thanks to Hunter x Hunter's power system. This is the same show where 'fast guy with electric powers' and 'guy who punches good' can co-exist with 'exponential energy debt cat that annoys you', 'eldritch horror nurse' and 'motorcycle grandma'.

2024-08-29 12:30:05 +0000 UTCThanks! Number 1 is definitely my favorite. It's extremely broad, but also feels important to me. An easy qualifier I guess is just hunting for your dream, whatever that is

2024-08-29 02:46:11 +0000 UTCAt 14:20, translating 差別主義者 as "segregationists" is an interesting (not necessarily bad?) choice. The original word essentially just means a racist or bigot, or literally someone who believes that discrimination is just. To keep with the theme of the discussion, it's basically just code word for "bad," so I suppose that's a faithful translation.

2024-08-29 02:38:58 +0000 UTCThe commandments aren't revealed in the Anime if I remember correctly, but they don't really reveal anything that isn't made clear in the story either. 1)Hunters must always be on the hunt for something. 2)Hunters must have a minimal understanding of martial arts. This includes learning Nen. 3)Once a Hunter is licensed, that license cannot be revoked for any reason. However, a license will not be reissued for any reason. 4)Hunters shall not target other Hunters unless they commit heinous crimes. 5)One star is given to a Hunter who produces remarkable achievements in a particular field. 6)Two stars are given to a Hunter who fulfills the Five Articles, holds an official position and has mentored a junior Hunter who is awarded a star. 7)Three stars are given to a Hunter who fulfills the Six Articles and produces remarkable achievements in multiple fields. 8)The chief executive of the Hunter Association must earn the confidence of a majority of his colleagues. When the position of chairman is vacated, the vote to elect the next chairman must be conducted at once, and deputy power is given to the vice-chairman in the meantime. 9)The authority to decide on a method to select new members is given to the chairman. However, to significantly change the existing methods requires the confidence of a majority of colleagues. 10)Any matter not mentioned here will be decided in a cabinet consisting of the chairman, vice-chairman and staff advisers. The chairman has the authority to select the vice-chairman and staff. The first one is the funniest to me, like I guess it's more of a slogan than a rule, but it would be really funny if Gon is categorised as a "Ging Hunter" by Hunter law. I guess Kite would have been one too for a while, meaning it has a precedent

2024-08-29 01:57:44 +0000 UTCWe've seen how Hisoka can choose his words so carefully throughout the show to get other people to do what he wants, so I really love that he asked Gotoh that question by starting out with the count of how many coins he took. He got Gotoh thinking specifically about the number of coins. Gotoh knew Hisoka would have something up his sleeve, so it made sense that Hisoka would SOMEHOW send more coins back at him than he took, even though there's no evidence that Hisoka could do that. Gotoh was on the right track with assuming the unexpected, but since the question had him focus on the number of coins his thoughts were steered in the wrong direction, leaving himself open for Hisoka to end the fight. It's so simple and so BRILLIANT
