I’m late. Before the spider with the defined cheekbones shows up Ponzu says the hunters she was in contact with were not responding when her bees returned to her. It’s only my guess, but I like it to think that the Spider was able to see Pockle’s arrows because they were taken out by the ants. It just makes more sense to me that way.

When she came back into focus this arc I was really happy to see her again. And then she died horribly. I was so sad😭

Colt is a chimera ant created from a human who was good and wanted to protect the queen . What happens when we get chimera ants who are predisposed to more evil tendencies.

2024-04-09 01:56:23 +0000 UTCThe anime sadly cuts out a scene from the manga that I do think negatively affects the arc slightly due to the ambiguity it creates, but still this episode is one of my favorites. The manga ends Gyro's backstory by saying that Gyro was reborn as an ant, but because his will was so strong he was reborn remembering everything about his previous life immediately. He's then shown leaving the nest, with the narrator saying "Gyro left and disappeared without encountering Gon. Whether this proved to be fortunate for either party will not be known until they ultimately meet." I think the true significance of the backstory was to show just how twisted an organization of humans has just been fed to the queen.
