odd timing probably but i wanted to recommend an anime called Mawaru Penguindrum. It's kinda niche but also fantastic. So i'm not sure many people here have seen it

2024-03-27 03:25:16 +0000 UTCI've thought about this question a lot. My go-to answer is "I want to say I'm the person who would/wouldn't". It radiates a bit more conviction. I believe, which is the key stat (characteristic) to whether you will, or won't. SHRINKFLATION? IN MY FANTASY ANIME?! "Eisen being threatened by the kid's greatness to the point of anger." You completely misunderstood what happened, and I hope you read at least this part: Eisen said "My body moved on reflex. I was afraid of him," Stark and Eisen were probably being confrontational (it's not specified why). Stark probably got angry. Eisen, being the experienced warrior of the Hero's party, instinctively recognized the being before him as being mortal danger and reacted immediately. That's why he hit him. Stark was strong and imposing enough that Eisen had to seriously defend himself, even if he wouldn't consciously want to hurt Stark. That's what he says Stark will become a strong warrior, because it made him, the Warrior of the Hero's party, afraid.

2024-03-25 14:59:47 +0000 UTCIt’s the subtle stuff that really impresses me in regards to the animation in this show. A great example this episode was when Fern sits down at the bar next to Stark. They properly animate her lifting her dress and then sitting down on the stool in one fluid motion. There’s so much stuff like that to find throughout.

I feel like Eisen wasn't so much "threatened" by Stark's greatness, but rather, during a rather intense argument, Stark became hostile to Stark and Eisen instinctually hit Stark with his full power because his body perceived Stark as a dangerous threat, on par with monsters he had fought during his ten year adventure.

2024-03-25 03:08:20 +0000 UTCI can see what you mean by that. We did use it as sort of preparation when we were in class. It was sort of our mantra to get us mentally through it all. I think there can be a lot of utility with the mentality of thinking you can go far. Yes it’s very unlikely you’ll reach your full potential but you can go surprisingly far. But for Stark a situation where it’s either perform or die, then taking the approach to having as much preparation as sensibility possible is probably the choice best for victory let alone survival

The kind of faking it I'm referring to is the kind where instead of doing anything to become a certain person, one tries to convince themselves they are already that person. Fake it till you make it may not have been the best phrasing 😅

In all seriousness, I’m so glad Stark is in the party now. It’s a rare thing, but I genuinely love every character dynamic in this show. It also does a great job of doing that even when half the characters are in flashbacks. Also, Frieren running up to the pile of loot after the dragon is dead is me whenever I play any video game.

2024-03-25 01:16:35 +0000 UTCInteresting how you mentioned the principle to fake it until you make it, I went through a language academy to where you either made it through or you get kicked out and forced to do a shitty job. A bunch of what we had to do was literally fake it until we made it. We would have to have conversations with our teachers and each other so confidence was a big factor besides just knowing the language itself. You can say the vocab and use the gramatical structure perfectly but if you’re uncomfortable doing it then it’s still obvious compared to the people who just went with it and made the mistakes
