Again, we are treated to Himmel's greatness and character as the Hero. The Einsam read Frieren's mind to recreate a convincing illusion of the person most important to her. The illusion is a perfect copy and it doesn't look like the Einsam can control it at all. It worked a bit TOO WELL. Himmel ('s perception in Frieren's mind) would sacrifice himself rather than put his comrades in danger or if he was used for evil. "Right. That's what Himmel would say." You seemed a tiny bit surprised that people wouldn't recognize Frieren. It needs be said that her party "saved the world" 28 (years since Himmel died) + 50 (between the end of the return trip and Himmel's death) + ~ at last 2-3 years (the trip to the demon lord's castle took 10 years, the return trip must've been considerable even when safer) = 80 years. Even if someone was born at the time, it's quit believable that he'd forget her description, if he ever heard it.

When first watching I was kinda hoping it would just be Frieren and Fern’s journey, but I think that’s just my perpetual itch for a Jedi and Padawan story of a similar nature. One day we’ll get something like that outside of Star Wars comics/books, I hope.

2024-03-24 07:32:26 +0000 UTCWhat struck me about that scene (without knowing what will happen in the show) is that I'm guessing traveling to the land of the dead will contain similar pitfalls. So it's kind of funny that they have this moment of getting trapped in fantasy about the dead and then Frieren is like, "well anyway, back to our journey to see the dead"

Fern realized she fell for it and Frieren was just like, 'yep, lets move on'. I enjoy the tolkien-esque style to this show alot, it plays to Frieren's teaching style, but also like real-life.

It's so interesting to see how they always tie up a particular thing one of them says and bring it back full circle in the end somehow. Always feels like we're learning things that make them even more likeable.

Part of me is sad we’re gonna be a little bit more plot driven because I could watch side quests that explore characters all day long. But I am also happy we have a more clear goal in mind now.

I definitely do see Zenitsu similarities and felt the same way at first, but thankfully i'm able to confirm Stark brings sooo much more to the table than just being whiny and scared of everything. (Can u tell im not a fan of Zenitsu? lol) Cant wait for the next ep!
