I think people fixate too much on some of his negative or more aptly put his immature qualities. Gon is very much a fun loving person who everyone is drawn too. Not sure why you’d want to avoid that. Just don’t kill his friends or be an asshole.

2024-04-03 01:59:24 +0000 UTCBisky is definitely the highlight of this episode for me, honestly the highlight of the whole arc as well. And yeah, I'd probably say her teleporting both of them to a beach was also to keep her true body a secret. Probably the same reason she kept it a secret during the dodgeball match. Also, if you remember the yo-yo, it's probably because it's featured briefly in the ending.

2024-03-23 23:12:31 +0000 UTCI would recommend reading the first manga chapter instead of watching the 1999 episode. The older anime contains a lot of confusing stuff and many continuity errors.

2024-03-23 05:27:18 +0000 UTCI love your grasp on Gon. As an animated protagonist, sure I don't hate him, but if I ran into a similar minded person in real life, I would avoid at all costs.

2024-03-23 02:50:28 +0000 UTCSomeone has probably already mentioned it but in case it hasn't been brought up yet, sometime in the next couple of episodes there's a character that will be introduced that appeared in chapter 1 of the manga and in episode 1 of the 1999 anime that wasn't introduced in this version. Allegedly it's because the studio didn't know they were going to adapt beyond Greed Island and chose not to include that section of the story. A lot of people recommend either reading chapter 1 of the manga or watching episode 1 of the 1999 anime for the backstory. When I watched this for the first time I hadn't read the manga or seen the 99 version and didn't really have much of an issue, but now having consumed that content and seeing the character's background I do think it adds to the story. The 1999 first episode is available on youtube and is worth watching imo.

2024-03-23 02:21:24 +0000 UTCObviously there are a lot of conditions and needs powerful nen users. Plus, if a nen user is weak then they can’t do it, but if they are strong enough to do it then they have no reason to share a trade secret and will instead keep their cards close to their chest.

2024-03-23 02:00:38 +0000 UTCKillua swinging a yoyo around himself and having electricity nen powers... Hmm... Remind you of anything? Maybe his first nen battle against a guy in a wheelchair?

2024-03-23 01:52:12 +0000 UTCThis is one of those times in particular where I got stuck thinking that, if we're able to create cards like Breath of the Archangel that can cure essentially any disease with nen, then it's a miracle that the entire HxH world isn't dramatically different as a result. (Also, very well put on the Genthru vs Hisoka comparison)
