Lol, what exactly do you expect to happen if they don't "accept his parameters"? The only way they know (and therefore by far the simplest way) to get the card they want from him, is to play his game. Else, steal it from him? Torture it out of him? This isn't real life where he's definitely got the card in some safe or sock drawer, which they can just raid ...

Not sure what possible connection that could have to the plot, though. I imagine it doesn't, and is more just something Togashi thought would be interesting in the moment, but it's there. Anyway, as a point of protest, I think the only thing "average" about your commentary is your background wall, haha. Otherwise I think it's exceptionally insightful.

It wouldn’t surprise me if someone’s made a comparison video between the two matches. Even this episode we see Razor stop the ball with one hand, which is exactly what that buff kid does in the episode. That entire character is basically a reference to Razor.
