2024-02-19 02:42:13 +0000 UTCI believe there are higher highs and lower lows in 0. Less consistent overall but a great ride nonetheless.

2024-02-18 23:38:55 +0000 UTCI believe his persona is a showing of care, and used it to try to cheer Mayuri up. However, he neglected himself just like always, using it in a harmful way. But the entire reason it exists came from a pure place, and it created real benefit, bringing Mayuri out of her depression. Obviously doing good at the expense of one’s self is never the answer, but I believe show pushes that loving, caring, and connection are the most important things in the world and become something far strong when given from a place of resolve.

2024-02-18 04:33:20 +0000 UTCHonestly even though it's getting close I still haven't decided, but I definitely will watch the OVA at least. I would like to watch 0 of course to get the full story but that also delays other shows that people might be waiting for

2024-02-17 10:30:32 +0000 UTCHe's vile. As I said there's something sympathetic in the phenomenon of envying people you love, but nothing sympathetic about this guy at all...

2024-02-17 10:29:17 +0000 UTCI agree, I think he shines the most when he's forced out of the mad scientist persona. It seems clear that there's something empathetic CONNECTED to the mad scientist routine but less clear that the mad scientist routine itself is good, honest, or empathetic in itself

2024-02-17 10:27:35 +0000 UTCAfter the show is finished I'd highly recommend checking out Steins Gate 0 I don't see it winning any polls unfortunately but I'd still say check it out if you want more out of these characters.

2024-02-17 10:12:17 +0000 UTCDaru sowed the seeds of salvation. All this talk about Utilitarianism, sticking to ideals, and value of lives... Do you find this an interesting point of discussion and big part of a story's premise? If so, I'm doing my best to convince you and every other channel member that you ought to watch the Fate series (Zero and Stay Night, not the spinoffs). "Is this guy loose in the world?" I guess this is why WWIII and/or CERN's dystopia branch out from this moment. I'm guessing Kuris's time machine paper was made into a technology that fell into the wrong hands (her father's). It would make sense how her death is worth, like a whole 0.3% divergence if it involves high-end technology and evil mad scientists (real ones). THE EVIL SCIENTIST STOLE MAYURI'S UPA! UNFORGIVABLE! Is that why we invade Russia and start WWIII? Incident #6324 where Mayuri establishes herself as the better choice but hey, what would I know, she only loves Okabe, knows him best, and knows exactly what she needs to say for him. I don't know why you're confused but it's not a spoiler, the episode spells it out directly. At 22:55. "mistake a living Kurisu for a dead one". He didn't interact with her body in ep. 1 other than seeing it. He saw a body on top of a pool of blood.

2024-02-17 09:06:33 +0000 UTCYou know interestingly I still don't know how the idea sits with me that Steins;Gate kind of celebrates Okabe's alter ego and frames it as a place of power, rather than as a detriment to his character. I definitely feel like at the start, Okabe's whole persona is a facade borne out of some sort of anxiety or self-esteem issues, so it's weird that the show ultimately concludes by doubling down on the mad scientist schtick. I guess the show does overall skew with the conclusion of every character arc towards 'just be yourself' and embrace your weirdness, but it always felt to me that Okabe's true sincerity and strength of character was when the facade drops.

2024-02-17 07:27:56 +0000 UTCI really hope we get 0 cause 25 episodes is too short for such a good show, and 0 was even crazier

2024-02-17 06:03:47 +0000 UTCDaru and Mayrui do take this very well considering lol It's hard to explain why to me but Kurisu's father is so disgusting. I think it's so weird to think of your offspring like a hated rival the way he seems to. It is like he feels zero paternity bonds except for a sting that his daughter surpassed him.

2024-02-17 05:34:42 +0000 UTCI love how this episode connects back into the first one. The title of the first episode was Prologue to the Beginning and End, which seems very appropriate now. The song that played during the last scene happens to be the VN’s opening song btw. With the finale around the corner, do you have any plans for what’s next? Steins;Gate episode 25 is an OVA, there’s also SG 0 of course, or something else entirely?

2024-02-17 05:09:26 +0000 UTCYeah probably. I'd just let the finale do its thing.
