Other than Okabe vomiting after seeing Mr. Braun, he is a remarkably calm in many of these situations. You can imagine that the fact he has been in dozens of life or death scenarios back-to-back, on top of the idea that he could just time leap if it goes bad, means that he probably doesn’t have much of a sense of danger or situational fear anymore, as the danger doesn’t feel totally real.

2024-02-12 04:56:13 +0000 UTCIt's interesting to compare Moeka and Mr. Braun's situations. We don't go into that much detail about either, but we're given enough info to get a general idea of how they ended up where they were. With Moeka, it feels like there is hope to escape where she is, but Mr. Braun has calmly, fully accepted his circumstances. He's also much more deeply involved in whatever it is that they're involved in. It's also worth noting that during this episode, Moeka has only been told that she will kill Mayuri, although she did say she'd do it if FB asked her to. My point is, unlike Mr. Braun who has already been manipulating people for years, at this time we don't know if Moeka has done anything that could make her anything other than a victim. That's a whole topic in and of itself though. Basically, Mr. Braun clearly doesn't regret seizing whatever opportunity he could to escape his horrible life circumstances, and has fully come to terms with all the horrible things he's done as a result. By this point it's easy to claim it was to protect his daughter, but did he ever look for another option, or was it just easier to continue doing what he'd been doing? I mean, he chose suicide over looking for another option, which he claimed was to keep Nae uninvolved, but in doing so puts her in an even more uncertain position without him there.

2024-02-11 18:45:30 +0000 UTCSo technically we already passed that part now but VN SPOILERS: In the original material Braun does not shoot Moeka, instead Nae kills her after witnessing her fathers suicide, she joined the rounders as she grew up and was the cause of Okabes death in the future (in this timeline), she then timeleaped back to current events and kills Moeka.
