He's a big fan of the Dragon Quest series, and has stated that the first one was a favorite of his, since it was his first RPG. I don't know if it's just a meme or if there's a source for it, but people often joke that Togashi's Dragon Quest addiction was the initial reason for his many hiatuses.

2024-01-05 01:58:32 +0000 UTCOne thing to bear in mind is that Ging would have absolutely no idea what Gon would be like, whether he would be a hunter, or how old he would be if he listened to it. Ging is a character left up to a lot of interpretation, so it’s interesting to see how so many viewers interpret his actions.
