2024-04-27 19:07:32 +0000 UTCI see I was worried about Mei-Mei for no reason. And henceforth will never worry about her, she's the rock that will always make it out! I love that Yuji has gained a new over-protective brother as well. I await the Big Brother competitions between Todo & Choso! And now makes sense why even prior to the Sukuna finger incident that Yuji had super-human strength & speed. He's technically half curse himself! (If I follow the reasoning that he's blood-related to Choso & potentially created the same way as Choso)

2023-12-29 18:39:47 +0000 UTCListen we all Stan for Miwa in this house, but let’s be honest, it’s probably for the best that she won’t be going up against any of the threats from here on lol. The curses and sorcerers on the villains side were already strong in season 1. Now? They’re horrifyingly busted lol

2023-12-29 14:48:55 +0000 UTCYou really have to give it up to the Kyoto school. In a series like this, anyone below Gojo's strength is most likely going to get undercut by fans but I'm glad to see a good handful notice how skilled, strong, and capable they are on their own.

2023-12-29 06:33:17 +0000 UTCChoso is like a weird half curse half human and fake geto used the body of Kamo Noritoshi to make the wife be able to give birth to a half curse half human.

2023-12-29 06:03:58 +0000 UTCAs far as evils portrayed in the show, Mei Mei profiting off a tragedy that she had no role in creating ranks pretty low if at all. But it doesn't feel GREAT, and definitely isn't high on the heroism scale either.

2023-12-29 05:28:27 +0000 UTCChoso is a cursed object incarnated (death womb painting i believe is the object). Yuji ate a cursed object (Sukuna's finger) but somehow kept control so he's sort of an anomaly but generally the object takes over once eaten/absorbed by the human.

2023-12-29 03:49:08 +0000 UTCI liked how you mentioned the parallel with the selfish vs. selfless, principled living with Fake Geto and MHA. I realized that also perfectly fits with principled chad Nanamin and acting out what he deems is the best for his people until his dying breath after suppressing his desire about retiring in Kuala Lumpur and Mei Meis rather selfish character enjoying being there minutes after what arguably seems to us like a scuffle. I could add more and it seems more subtle but Mei Mei is also portrayed to use people as a means to an end based on past dialogue with Ui Ui and with that bussiness call this episode. We always love and are attracted to the selfless characters and feel kinda iffy about the selfish side, But after thinking about it, I personally can't outright say Mei Mei's (or more generally selfish / inner circle) morals are wrong but i'd have to think more about that. Also makes for interesting dynamics and are just entertaining to watch in shows. Thanks and Sorry for coming to my impromptu mini JJK essay.

2023-12-29 03:47:20 +0000 UTCAlso, another easily missable fun fact: if the song sounded familiar at all @16:25, its cause that’s the longer full song version of the mid-card jingle from season 1 lol
Jake White
2023-12-29 03:30:50 +0000 UTCAnd to further add to your clarification: both times that we see the original Kamo Noritoshi, he *already* has the stitches across his head. So whoever the sorcerer brain thing inside Geto’s head actually is, clearly was already around and active before taking over Noritoshi 150ish years ago.

2023-12-29 03:23:55 +0000 UTCAssuming that is the woman who influenced Todo, I get it now. It's all become clear.

2023-12-29 03:22:28 +0000 UTCSo a crazy fact that’s super easily missed in this episode, simply because the nature of JJKs power system is so different from most shounen; is that Miwa’s whole “Put it all in, everything I’ve experienced, and even my future to come. Even if it means never swinging a sword again” line wasn’t just a throwaway moment to showcase her inner resolve in the face of life threatening stakes. She was literally making a ‘binding vow’ on her own cursed technique to speed and power up her quick draw attack as much as possible, at the expense of her genuinely never being able to wield a sword again. She basically made an unbreakable pact with her own technique that she’d never pick up a sword again, in exchange for removing any limiters or caps on her cursed energy and power for that attack. And (fake) Geto STILL caught it and snapped her blade like it was nothing. Definitely earning his right to be up there among the top 3 or so strongest sorcerers in the series lol

2023-12-29 03:17:59 +0000 UTCI would like to have money and two hands, is life really worth living if I also cant boogie my woogie any longer. Obviously I would morally want to be more like Todo but at the same time I also in real life I compare myself to other people I see greater than myself but at some point I realised I am ok with being a Mei Mei, I will help people if I can but I've already spent time on lost causes before.

2023-12-29 03:00:18 +0000 UTCchoso is my favorite character in the series so i'm super excited for more of him in season 3 despite not being the biggest fan of the direction the story takes after this arc. also just a refresher/clarification about the whole kamo thing: in season 1 we learn that kamo noritoshi (the kyoto student) is the child of the current head of the kamo clan and his mistress. the clan wanted him cause he'd inherit his father's cursed technique but rejected his mother. so his mom named him after the clan's biggest disgrace, the kamo noritoshi from 150 years ago that created choso and his siblings, out of spite. also it must suck for him to have choso show up and use blood manipulation way more effectively than he ever could cause of human limitation that choso doesn't have to worry about lol

2023-12-29 02:52:09 +0000 UTCRealistically it's possible that everything will work out for her and she'll never feel guilty and just enjoy her money in peace etc etc (though I doubt it). But even if that does happen, she never will reach any serious height of glory or understanding or the highest elements of life. To illustrate, while it would be very difficult to make this choice in real life, just as a viewer would you rather be someone like Mei Mei, or someone like Todo? For me the answer is clear

2023-12-29 02:46:45 +0000 UTCTo your comment on the animation during Choso and Fake-Geto fight, I was so shocked with how well they did it. In the manga it was only a page and I can't believe they went above and beyond in expanding on it

2023-12-29 02:44:28 +0000 UTCI like the fact that it shows not everyone who does the right thing comes out on top. Before Nanami died he talked to himself about going to Malaysia but it was Mei Mei who ended up doing it. Her being interested in money and or self preservation, having this weird incest thing going on yet she seems to be the only one other than the villains who seem to be coming out of this unharmed. I don't think shes bad or a villain but I guess being a realist in a world with curse spirits will do that to you.

2023-12-29 02:40:48 +0000 UTCMan’s is criminally underrated. For being a grade 1 on par with the likes of Nanami/Naobito with no cursed technique, just straight cursed energy control and sword fighting skills, he’s a monster. Krillin-esque *strongest ‘normal’ character* archetype done right

2023-12-29 02:39:10 +0000 UTCAnother brother added to the collection. Love that Choso forgave Yuji for killing his brothers instantly in that moment lmao, also its kinda morbid that Yuji essentially killed his own brothers back in S1
