That makes sense

Oh god I forgot about that

Alex G

Also, as an additional thought from what Todo said at the B5 level. If Psuedo-Geto has already been able to move the prison realm & leave, what Happened to Mei-Mei?

It seems like Mechamarus cursed energy was powering the devices with residuals. It was acting to emotional to have been just a program hence when the limited cursed energy ranout he was out of time.

This episode was so great. Todo's black flash was probably the funniest cut I've seen from the show. He travels through the cosmos, get's a thumbs up from yuji, and all before the black flash has flash cuts of his idol Takada-chan, Yuji, his mentor, and girls in bikinis with big asses. In the manga he just kicks him and all the ridiculousness is anime original.

Mahito was truly excellent

Regardless of the 99% I was afraid during the small Todo/ Mahito chase. I actually can wait for next week. I can’t take anymore right now.

God I hate and love Mahito at the same time, he is the definition of unhinged. Mahito and Yujis VAs have knocked it outta the park once again too!

RoZiiii

Todo really pulled a one for all move what a legend lmao

This season has been such an emotional roller coaster for real. The VA's have put their all into their acting too. So much so I for real burst into tears seeing & hearing Nanami again for that brief moment. And I have never been the type of person to yell or cheer loudly for epic moments, but the minute I heard that clap, I yelled Todo's name so loudly. Also, so sweet/heartbreaking that in that moment Yuji is recalling the last words Nanami said to him, and picturing Nanami the way he always was instead of how he actually looked in that moment. Like it's the same pose & way he turned to speak to Yuji in that final moment. (I'm still not ok after losing Nanami though. That hurt my soul, & I took that personally.)

Thanks for the explanation, I was wondering where that came from. It sounds amazing. Erwin came to mind for me as well, as did MHA. There are just some things that always land as profound

Alex G

Same, still nervous for what happens

the scene where todo switches with the stone thrown by itadori felt oddly familiar at first. only then i realised it was most likely a reference to my hero academia, especially with the banger soundtrack they chose for this particular scene. am thrilled for the next episode!

Todo's speech lowkey reminded me of Erwin's. Todo- what have they entrusted you with? Erwin- it's us who give meaning to our comrade's lives. Also his opening lines were referencing the famous Japanese poem from "The Tale of the Heike," a Japanese literary epic. This poem highlights the impermanence of all things, referencing the bells of Gionshōja. The key part goes: "The bells of Gionshōja ring, signifying that all that thrives must fade; the sāla flowers' hue teaches the truth that prosperity declines." "The Tale of the Heike" (平家物語, Heike Monogatari), compiled before 1330, chronicles the Taira and Minamoto clans' battle for Japan in the late 12th century during the Genpei War (1180-1185). On one level, "The Tale of the Heike" is a saga of martial heroism, showcasing bravery, cruelty, power, glory, sacrifice, and sorrow. On another, it delves into Buddhist thought, covering duty, Dharma, and fate. Right from the start, it emphasizes Buddhism's law of transience and impermanence, especially in the fleeting nature of fortune. Someone paraphrased it- "Let us be built different, such that we do not cast shame upon those of us who, being not made of alternative matter, have passed on, thus entrusting us with the charge of carrying said aforementioned differing build in their stead."

I'm taking a hesitant breath..lol..tho I'm still depressed (cried 3xs) and am very very very on edge with the fight.

Ever since watching the OP I’ve been anticipating the hell out of another duet with the brothers. But given the situation at MAPPA with their workers and the astounding work they’ve put in with every single episode, I’d thought that once Todo arrives the fights following with it would feel lackluster and derived from the passion compared the fights beforehand. But the animators continued to give their 120% and I couldn’t be more grateful since Todo is my favorite along with many others. From the second I’ve finished this episode, I’ve been eager to see what this reaction! It’s amazing how one person or thing can instantly flip the mood 180 from depression to relief/excitement. Alas nice reaction, Mr Goodwin!

I’m not going to get a chance to watch this for a couple hours but I’m very interested in what you have to say about mahitos view of their fight and what it’s really about

Big Fuze

😂

Ever since I heard about the issues I was expecting lots of time filling devices like narration over static image narration etc. Instead it's been action packed episode after action packed episode. If they cut corners at all, they did it in a way that I didn't feel or think about at all while watching.

Alex G

Also why are all of the hatable villains living our dreams. First Haruta gets choked by Nanami, now Mahito’s getting clapped by Todo, should have been me 😔

The animators deserve every amazing thing in the world. If you’ve seen some of my comments, you’ll know I’ve been hyping up season 2 since long before it released. Shibuya is one of my favorite anime arcs and I felt like I was punched in the gut when I realized that Mappa’s cruel practices could ruin it. The shit that the animators have gone through makes me wish they turned in stick figures and went home, despite my love for the season. While they may have not literally been able to do that, they may have saved themselves some stress if they lowered the quality (I wouldn’t blame them). But these animators that the company doesn’t deserve are so passionate and want this series to succeed, that they made this a masterpiece that is better than the source. I feel like crying tears of gratitude as a massive JJK fan. They deserve all the praise in the world. Here are some tweets that say the key staff in this episode, they deserve support. I hope these talented people continue to abandon Mappa and find better for themselves, as some have already done. https://www.reddit.com/r/JuJutsuKaisen/comments/18cyeje/jujutsu_kaisen_season_2_episode_20_staff_list/
