2023-12-02 08:27:51 +0000 UTCI was still mourning Nanami & then this...Nobara was really one of my favorite female leads. And I just adore Yuji like a puppy, so I am taking these last few episodes personally. But in all seriousness I applaud the mangaka for not being afraid to kill off leads or fan favorites. The story is compelling and is written well enough to make me this sad losing the characters. In all reality both sides would take heavy loses. It just sucks. And I swear if we lose Toge I am officially done!

2023-12-02 04:47:40 +0000 UTCI also want to stop it right here. This is too much for me. It’s odd, usually I wonder if creators ever have the guts to kill off main characters and now I understand why that’s not a constant thing because it gets harder to watch. Damn.

2023-12-01 19:35:40 +0000 UTCNot only will this whole arc have taken place in a single day, but from the time that Yuji regained control from Sukuna and broke down upon remembering the massacre all the way up until Mahito just got to Nobara, has only been just over 10 minutes. Dude’s really speed running the most traumatic evening in history lol

2023-12-01 19:15:28 +0000 UTCIt really felt like there was so much hope at the start of the arc, but right when Gojo got sealed everything just snowballed farther and farther. We don't know the status on Maki, and Panda, That Zenin guy got burnt to a crisp, Nanami, and Nobara getting killed by Mahito. Sakuna leveling all of Shibuya. How many people are remaining even? There's Mei Mei (her annoying brother too), Itadori, the assistants, and I can't think of anyone else that we haven't seen be in some sort of risk of death. Fushiguro should be alive since Sukuna saved him. But man. I need best jeanist to cross shows to spin together these threads of hope like expensive denin.

2023-12-01 16:47:42 +0000 UTCThat's excellent and adds a lot to my appreciation for the flashbacks and their timing. On that note, I noticed watching again that the first scene with Nobara saying she has to go is especially important for the episode, knowing what happens next. I've long maintained that the worst forces are often the easiest and immediately beneficial (mirroring what seems to be natural forces of the world where decay and death are a constant and anything building constructively against that is nothing short of a miracle, but I digress). That is part of what makes the struggle to be different so noble and impressive, and important. What might happen in regard to the shows themes is establishing that darkness and then building out of it, much like Attack on Titan.

2023-12-01 16:41:46 +0000 UTCJust sharing a comment written by someone, that I thought gives an interesting perspective to the story- "One of the central themes in "Jujutsu Kaisen" is the notion that selfishness is often rewarded, while honor and morality are frequently punished or exploited. The series' primary power system, curse energy, is closely correlated to an individual's egotism and self-interest. This concept is exemplified by characters like Gojo and Sukuna, who are immensely powerful due to their selfish, megalomaniacal, and hedonistic traits. The narrative often highlights the kind and benevolent aspects of characters just before their tragic demises. For instance, the inherent goodness of characters like Nanami and Nobara ultimately leads to their suffering and death. This theme is most overtly illustrated through Mahito, who exploits Yuji's kindness to cause him anguish. Nobara's demise partly serves to show that main characters are vulnerable and that good people are the most vulnerable in the series. The narrative suggests that to thrive in the world of Jujutsu, one must forsake all virtuous qualities and embrace a selfish, hedonistic existence. Characters resembling Sukuna are portrayed as most successful. This idea is further reinforced by Sukuna's advice to Jogo, where he advocates for the abandonment of allies in favor of pursuing personal, hedonistic desires. Also, I want to point out the theme that Nanami died due to his nature to protect the youth (He went to the lower floor to help bring back Gojo and to stop the younger sorcerers from having to take upon that burden), something that is usually attributed to mentor characters. While Nobara died due to her nature of self-sacrifice and feeling a necessity to help others (usually strangers) at her own risk. This is demonstrated in her back story by putting herself at a social risk by helping the bullied girl and the out-casted lady. Nobara died because she was more concerned about helping Shibuya than her own self-preservation. Gege loves to turn usual Shounen virtues into tragic and usually deadly faults. His way of demonstrating how the world exploits peoples good morals"

2023-12-01 16:30:50 +0000 UTCLooked like the painting “The Scream” at 9:24 Understandable tho, this adaptation has been running a train on my emotional health Edit: I really like the flashback, I’m sure people have problems with it being last minute, which I get, but the stuff here was things already set up. If they just pulled out new stuff I would have been mad. It represents a lot that Nobara chose the blue backpack, not caring about being different. It’s clear that’s she’s matured beyond the view of everyone is crazy (as she does make connections quite quickly), but the experience with Saori made her far more selective about those who she chooses to trust and love having “only so many seats for people to care about”, connecting with individuals rather than general groups. That hasn’t changed, nor is it wrong, but meeting the other classmates did let her know that there are good people in the wild out in the world, even if she still knew that conceptually. I think that is what she meant by her last words “life wasn’t so bad”. I will miss my favorite gremlin cactus, assuming this is final.
