Story 8 February Update

Hello Patrons!

I have some updates on Story 8 and the other Gilded things I have been up to these past couple weeks. Remember that these posts will not have any major spoilers so please read on!

Story 8 Update

Ever since the official trailer has come out, we've been moving at full speed to finish the remaining scenes in Chapter 6. I took an honest look at the production schedule, and estimated that we'd need to be finishing multiple scenes per day in order to reach the April 2024 deadline. As such, I put out a job advertisement for recruiting two more animators on the team. We got a lot of responses and luckily found two very fitting artists for the project!

Donnie & Rainby!

I've given Donnie a very special scene to work on due to his skills in action and dynamic shots, while I've assigned Rainby several steadier, character-acting focused shots that need fluid movement. Their contributions have already kept us well-on-track to hit our monthly milestone.

Speak of, the overall progress on Chapter 6 is looking really good. Last month we had less than half (40%) of the chapter done. As of now, we're at 80% finished, doubling the amount of animated, ink & cleaned scenes. This makes me incredibly optimistic, since the chapter is quite dense with animated keyframes and drawings, which indicates that Chapter 7 may progress even faster.

There are so many cool, new techniques we're using I want to reveal to ya'll right now, but you'll have to wait until the anim is out in April to see em!

New Scoring Collaborator - Rush Garcia

In addition to the new animators on the team, I've been collaborating with a new musical composer named Rush Garcia! He's bringing a ton of experience and production quality to the table, since he's done a plethora of wonderful musical covers and orchestrations online.

JUNGLE

If animation production is like carving a fresh path through a thick jungle, I'd say we are at the final hill. There's still several miles to cover, but the final destination is within sight!

Keychains have Arrived!

A shipment of merch has arrived at my doorstep and will be available in the shop shortly. I'll make a separate post about it once the listing is up!
