Commission Madness & Story 8 Work

Hi Patrons - here is an update on my art-related activities over the past couple weeks.

Story 8 Progress

Gildedguy & the Dragon of Mar is transitioning into it's 6th chapter, which is essentially the last "big" chunk of the project, since Chapter 7 is relatively short. As such, the team and I spent time drawing up concept designs for the characters and backgrounds. 

Here are some spoiler-free versions of these documents:

I know there's not much to look at, but at least you can get a sense of the colors.

In addition to concept art, I've been working on nailing down the animatic and layouts for Chapter 6. These two steps (concept art and animatic) must be done before any animation is begun. As of right now, about half of the animatic is done, and I expect to be finished with it by the end of the month.

Background Art

Something more concrete that we can show off are a variety of backgrounds that Rebonkulous has rendered. The beauty of these backgrounds is that they were drawn in Adobe Animate, allowing us to infinitely zoom and scale the quality as need be.

These backgrounds are already looking really nice, and they haven't even been fully composited yet. This means that the final animation will have even more ambient glows, shading and parallax than pictured here!

Again, I wish I could show off all the cool work we're doin behind the scenes, but spoilers prevent us from doing that. Thankfully I'll have lots of alternative material to stream to you guys in the form of...

Commissions & Lilian Plush Funded!

Thanks to the efforts of many of our viewers and patrons, we were able to secure funding for the Lilian Makeship Plush in the final few days!

A big part of the increased participations was due to a, what I thought was little, offer to give a free commission drawing along with every new Lilian plush order. Many of you took me up on that offer so now I have a hefty list of special drawings to deliver to yall!

Although it is a lot of work, it was a pleasure to see everyone so fired up, including myself. I love a good opportunity to produce lots of custom art for dedicated viewers, especially those who support my animations financially.

I didn't know there was this much demand for commissions! Perhaps I'll open up a portion of my time to receiving commission requests. Please let me know if you are interested in such a service.

Really happy with how these two came out!

The only downside to these commissions is that they'll be occupying my time for the next week. As I said before, it's good that I'll be able to stream something to y'all while prep work for Chapter 6 is done off stream.
