Story 8 Chapter 5 Progress & Speedpaint

The following post is the first of July's progress updates.

Violet's Speedpaint

Rebonkulous and I worked on a new wallpaper and speedpaint for you guys! I've been sneaking more info and little updates into the videos so please check it out. I was also happy to feature more of Oneul's charming music, including the track "Adventurer's Guild", which I used for the intro of Gildedguy vs Violet.

The wallpaper centers around a more detailed version from the animation, serving as an introduction to the lively character for our YouTube viewers. As a reminder, I plan on adding and further fleshing out the story of Gildedguy vs Violet in a future release, so this speedpaint acts as a sort of official "concept art" of the polished version.

Story 8 comes at a priority though!

Story 8 Updates

"Gildedguy & the Dragon of Mar" is about a third through Chapter 5, which, without going into detail, is the post-battle sequence. I am enjoying animating the characters in a rather new environment, and I look forward to seeing how the compositing and lighting will turn out in the end.

There's a considerable amount of scenes to do, and with GG vs Violet temporarily done, I'm setting an aggressive schedule for myself to keep up momentum. An animation of this size is certainly a marathon and there is still much ground to cover.

Teaser Trailer and Chapter 1 Release

I'm going to devote some time towards crafting an official Teaser trailer for the project, as well as polishing up a rough cut of Chapter 1 for release to qualified (tier 2+) patrons. This effort will likely take about 1 week total. Therefore, the Teaser trailer will take the place of this month's regular speedpaint upload.

Overlay Updates

As usual, I'm slowly adding small improvements to the 3D overlay. Yesterday I already added a way for the application to react to streaming music's audio levels, as well as my own microphone. Right after I finish this post, I might attempt to finish adding the Dancing Avatar gifs, a nostalgic feature that many chat viewers wanted.
