New Monthly Speedpaint & Story 8 Progress!

Hi Patrons!

Happy to release a bit of content for you all in the form of this monthly speedpaint titled "Pushing Buttons", featuring our boy Lilian. The music featured is actually from some old-timey Spanish music my mom would listen to all the time.

Since HD downloads of speedpaints are reward, the download links will be available in a separate post for Tier 2 Patrons (5 USD).

I plan to release more monthly videos to make the wait for Story 8 easier.

Story 8

We've wrapped up a section of the animation I've been calling the "burning vision", which lasts a whopping 20 seconds and over 200 keyframes.

With that portion done, I've turned my attention toward our team member KAP's big sequence, which also lasts about half a minute. 

The 3D camera movements have been mostly locked in, so we can now move forward with overlaying our 2D characters! Something I'm learning is that integration of 3D backgrounds is not as "effort-free" as I expected. There's a lot of initial startup cost, planning, and iteration that needs to be done before the reusability of 3D backgrounds can be utilized.

I hope to get it set up for animation, clean & ink by the end of the month.

We're still "in the weeds" of the project, so there is not too much non-spoilery content to show off; that is, until we hack our way out of this thicket.

First Look at the Story 8 Keychain Designs

As with the previous keychain sales, I'm working with Kero to produce two new charm designs. These will be sold and shipped around Story 8's release time, with plans to give a free coupon to Name Credit Patrons (15 USD+) like with the previous animation.

FYI the final designs will be less "realistic" and more stylized.

I will let you guys know once we have some final designs/mockups ready.
