Animation Pre-Prod & Concepts!

Hi Patrons, just here to deliver some updates on what I've been up to the past couple weeks. The post contains minor spoilers as to which characters I'll be fighting against, but nothing more than that.

Story 7 Progress

Last time I unofficially announced that work on the next animation, "Gildedguy & the Rock Hard Gladiator" has begun. I am currently at the "script writing" phase, and I'm wracking my brain over the story. There's a strong, mechanical plot structure in place (a skeleton), but I'm still working on making it emotionally resonant. Maybe that part will come as I'm animating it. 

The writing is 90% done, I just gotta commit what I've imagined to the paper.

Featured Characters & Creators

From the above image gallery, you may recognize two brand new characters to my stories: Arzon and Andre. Their creators, Hanif and Stone, are already onboard with the project, and I'm working with them to get their back stories right. This is gonna be a fun battle animation, cause it's no longer a simple 1v1 duel - this time, THREE sticks will be fighting!

Arzon (by Hanif): A young, grey typhoon fighter who can send out blasts of air.

Tarot Card by LixDHedgehog

Andre (by Stone): The first ever stick-fighter in a "vs-battle" universe. Founder of the animator vs animator stick fight tradition known as RHG. Old, brown, and wields a big hammer with elemental powers.

Gildedguy: Some doofus in gold armor.

These characters come from different eras, and I hope the mix between old and new results in some juicy, entertaining conflict.

Song Reveal and Feel

After much deliberation, for the feature song, I've decided to go with "Rock Ain't Dead" - ONLAP. Aside from the obvious lyrical reference to my 'rock' theme, the song itself is extremely loud, energetic, and structured. I try to really synchronize the events and mood of the story to the music, and I think this song will give us plenty of peaks and valleys to ride.

The song itself is fairly popular already, but I'm determined to put my own spin on it! 

Note: I ask that you do not reveal my use of the song quite yet. 

Stream News

Some fancy stellapent coasters for lucky giveaway winners in-stream.

Since pre-production is a process filled with extensive brainstorming and heavy spoilers, there hasn't been much for me to livestream lately. Still, I want to do some broadcasting. Hence my announcement of a film festival watch party:

I'll be doing a watch party of Animator Guild's 2021 Film Festival on my Twitch on May 15th!  

It'll be featuring a bunch of pieces from indie animators of a variety of skill levels. It's rumored to be over 3 hours long, so sit tight! I'll do the standard giveaways and maybe mix in some fundraising for the finalists.

Although I signed up to participate, Story #0's premiere had to be pushed back to the summer, thus missing this festival's deadline. But we can at least celebrate the hard work of all the other animators! See you there.

In other news..

The day after the watch party, I'll be picking up this guy from the shelter (Jack, my first dog). I get to be an official pooper scooper very soon!
