I've always been more graceful in the water than on land (I was swimming before I was walking) so it's no surprise that I'd always fantasized about being the little mermaid. When I was a girl my parents took me to the Atlantic Ocean. The moment my 6-year-old legs hit the water I shot off swimming so far from the shore my father had to swim out and bring me back.
