FLASHBACK 2014! Deimos in "No goodbyes". Letters.

It's no secret that I had huge struggles with DEIMOS from 2004 to 2013. Working the main DEIMOS series had posed several creative challenges, and just as I've done with other characters, I sought new projects through which I could "reset" my rapport with the Taro Demon.
DEAD OF WINTER #1 was that project, and became the first story featuring DEIMOS which I wrote and illustrated since the original DEIMOS #0 released in 2004. It was also an instant reset for me. It kicked off my renewed love affair with the character... a love affair that blazes still today.
This particular STRIPSHOW episode was extremely important because it allowed me to move beyond the events that occurred in DEAD OF WINTER #1 and create the sequel, DEAD OF WINTER #2.
As for working with HvH, that was an absolute pleasure. I knew I was in for breathtaking artwork, and he more than delivered on every front. This remains one of my favourite STRIPSHOW episodes to feature DEIMOS.

PS -- I suppose knowing what we know about DEIMOS and his relationships with ISAIAH SHADE and ZAHN, this little story seems to contradict canon... OOPSIE! But it's still a lot of fun to revisit these classic comics, and explore the early beginnings of our characters, foibles and all.
