Good day all! I've been veeery quiet this month. No big reasons, just a combination of me having a severe "everything I draw is crap and I need to delete it and redo all" - mood (which occurs ever so often), incessant loud next-door construction work which kept going and me deciding my earlier plan for this build wasn't working the way I wanted it to work so I decided to scrap it and start anew after a week or so.
I figured it was best to focus on getting a new build done at the expense of most other things, because I think that's what most of you would prefer. Anyway, I released a bughunt version a few days ago and I'm working on getting the early access of v1.1.5 version ready. The build is a bit small so I'd like to try and improve upon that before releasing it. Bugs seem to be relatively benign and easy to fix so far, but I think the early access version will be ready on the first of August. At the absolute latest on the 2nd. I also still have to get a art assets update ready.
off-topic banter. I have this keyboard which had gotten so filthy (but was a headache to properly clean so I kept putting it off) I couldn't ignore it anymore. It's sooo old it has a ps2 connector instead of USB. I bought a special plug/connector for it so it can still be used with a pc which isn't ancient. I've been using it (and one other) for long enough that some of the letters have eroded.... though I got it second hand to begin with so that might not have been all on me. It was a very mundane chore at first but turned into a "zen experience" which I could really use after the neighbors needed to have the tiles removed from their walls. Apparently those things were glued on there with the best tile adhesive in the world...
After I opened it up, it was as if a decades(!?) worth of dead skin cells and bits of cheerios(?) tried to pollinate everything around, including my lungs. There also were a bunch of tiny suction cups which I wasn't so certain about whether I could put them back again...
It might have been quicker to buy a new keyboard, but I really like how this one's keystrokes feel. I really don't want to just buy/return keyboards until I've found a replacement so I'll be sticking with this one for as long as I can. I might have to start drawing letters on it myself using a sharpie or something. yes I can type blind... (I just don't know how to spell) but I like being able to see some letters.
And that's about it for this update. You didn't miss much with me being so late with one this month! Anyway, early access version should be done in a day or two and I hope it'll pass the smell test : )
