and then a thing happened!

Okay, so long story short... I'll have the bughunt version up this month but the early access version will be out at probably the second(?) of Feb. If you don't plan on hanging around for that long, here's a link to an empty mega folder which I'll add the new 18titans files to once it's ready. In which case, bookmark it.

So for anyone curious, I was planing on uploading the bughunt version a day or so ago. I had a wicked headache and wasn't super happy with the build because it had so many bugs initially (inconsistency bugs) and fixing those had taken up a looot of time. So much so I felt other things suffered because of it. So far so bad... ps. I have a pc dedicated for compiling builds. It does that and pretty much only that.

So It was pretty late already, I was having a headache and then when I went to turn on the pc to compile anew build it did nothing... At first you wiggle the cables and try pushing the same button again(and again). I also replaced the power extension cable.

After none of that worked I spent some time trying to open the case to take a look inside. I figured it was the power supply. (Again? I vaguely remember something like that happening to another pc) Anyway, I couldn't get side panel to open no matter how hard I pulled(sideways this 'll be important later on)! At least as hard as I dared for fear of destroying anything! Even after finding a screwdriver to use as a levering tool it wouldn't budge. In the end I just gave up and went to bed in the worst of moods.

The next day I discovered instead of sliding the side panel sideways I should've pulled it upwards instead. It didn't exactly open up easily, but it wasn't me trying to move Thor's hammer either anymore. I can laugh about it now, though it's not a very jolly laugh...

So it turns out the power supply was indeed cooked. I am lucky enough to have a bunch of those! But none in the pic was a fit, because of either the size or missing connectors. Remember this is all old stuff I salvaged from ancient family pc's. In the end I've been able to get it working again, yay! But I decided against rushing out to compile and upload the new 18Titans bughunt for reasons above.

If I'm not going to be able and realistically keep the early access within this month, I might as well focus on getting the bughunt in a better condition first. Or that's at least my train of thought and the reason why I'm writing this update!

So yeah, this is a little update for anyone wondering why I haven't uploaded a new build yet. I would've preferred the first build of 2025 to be released sooner (especially because the next month is February with its ungodly low amount of days) but I think this will be the smarter/better way in the end.

Thanks Toaster!

Nothing like a stress induced headache to tell you to take it a little slower : ) !

MITY

I do thanks! it was one of those stress headaches. I sometimes just set a goal and whether it's reasonable or not I whip myself up into a frenzy if it feels I won't make it in time. It's pretty rare though.

MITY

I was lucky it didn't die on me while actually working on anything!

Headaches are the worst, im hope you take time, and Do not rush things.

Chaosdestille

I hate headaches. I hope you are feeling better!

EchoTheWorld

PSUs are the worst, they seem to love dying at the most inopportune moments. Regardless, I’m looking forward to the release! 😁
