m/art/y update -

Good day everyone! Marty here. Hope you had a good weekend!

First things first, will I finally be able to talk about what the next project will be!? Not yet! Sorry about that. I don't really know how important it is to all of you to know up front, instead of for example be surprised with the first build once it's ready(to be clear, that's a long way off). Personally, I'd very much like to know up front if I were a patron of us. That's what I'll tell and remind Cbob of after I've uploaded this update.

However I can tell you I've been watching episodes of *censored* in preparation on a daily basis. I don't want to just binge watch it all in several sessions. Watching something that way destroys my appreciation for said thing and quite frankly, I won't be able to retain much information either.  I guess I can also tell you it's not going to be anything which has hundreds of episodes. Sorry "One piece" crowd!

That's as much as I can say about it right now, but naturally I'm not just here to tell you that. I've been doing a lot more than just watch *censored*.  

So what have I been doing? First of all, I did some work on a new 18Titans build. Not much, just one scene... but it was a really difficult one. Not because it's special in any way... just one of those scenes which just take me forever for no other reason that I me just not finding the right "angle".  Some scenes can be done in just a day and receive a lot of positive feedback and others will take me five days and are still just mediocre at best. Just to be super clear about this,  18Titans was and still is a side project.

Anyway, I wanted to at least have one 18Titans scene ready  for myself before I'd continue working on FET again! 

Sure FET's main story is done and don't expect  a plethora of new builds, but I also told you I wasn't quite done yet. There are still a couple of scenes I wanted to add as well as some bugfixes and some "quality of life" additions. I already mentioned I worked on the option to jump to the last chapter once you've finished the game once, just like you can  skip entire books.  

The next build will be a FET build which will expand on the final chapter for the love route. At first I wanted to do the slave and love route at the same time again, just like I did in the last FET build, but I quickly dropped that idea.

I don't regret doing that for the ending, because I still think it was  important to have the slave and love route folks see the end at the same time, but it had me splitting my attention way too much.  The next FET build will have nothing big going on. Just think of it as a "Bikini's on the beach after party" for the love route.

This will be a build in which you can miss most of the scenes by simply NOT having made the right choices in the past. Not because I like working on stuff which you can easily miss, but if (for example) you didn't opt to allow Kuvira to escape during book 4's love route, she can't be on Ember island.

It's why the skip-straight-to-the-final-chapter-  (yin/yang) button will be important.  Currently you have some very easy menu options during the end which will easily allow you to see different endings regardless of what you did during earlier books. I'll remove those because I really hate having those choices present during the first play through. I'll take those menus and move them to the part where you skip all books. I think I'll have things like Kuvira being present on Ember Island on by default if you use the shortcut.

So even if you made some less that fortunate choices in the past and have no saves, you'll have a relatively easy way to see the new scenes anyway. 

I'll be very clear about which scenes are in the next build and how they are dependent on choices made in the past when the time is there.

I'd really like to have that build ready this month, but if I manage to do so I imagine it will be a relatively small one.

I don't think I have anything else particularly interesting to mention. At the very least nothing concerning any projects right now. 

I returned the ambidextrous mouse I mentioned last time. I hated it and now I'm just back to using my right handed one again with a lot of padding under my wrist.

I've also watched a few new episodes of "the Orville". It started out as a star trek parody of sorts. I believe the parody part was more to evade any legal trouble (which I can relate to!) and I really enjoyed the first two seasons. The new season, though still entertaining, isn't really hitting me as hard as the first two.
