Fucked up demo

When I was in Dorset recording Three Futures, I stayed part of the time in my producer Rob's flat, which actually belongs to PJ Harvey. So there I was, looking out the window where Polly herself sat when she wrote Stories From the City and Dry (I think I've got that right.) I was on a budget and trying to be resourceful so I went down to the water (the flat is right on the sea) and cast a net. It took a long time but I caught five fish. When I brought them back up to the flat I realized I didn't have anything to kill them peacefully. Short story is I had to cut their heads off while they were alive and it has haunted me every day since. This is a fucked up demo I recorded and only you all will hear it (for now anyway). I was inspired by Jordan Peele's "Us" for the creep factor. xo M
