2024-01-27 23:41:34 +0000 UTCI'm glad you enjoyed this movie. Blast was a mild swear word meaning damn. Bathing also referred to swimming and a bathing suit was a swimsuit. Gene Tierney (Mrs. Muir) was one of classic Hollywood's great beauties. Rex Harrison (Capt. Gregg) is probably best remembered as Prof. Henry Higgins in the musical My Fair Lady (1964). Natalie Wood (young Anna Muir) is known for many movies: Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), West Side Story (1961), and The Great Race (1965) among others. George Sanders (creepy author Uncle Neddy) often played similar characters but he was a very decent man in Village of the Damned (1960). Edna Best (Martha) was better known as a stage actress. The 1968 "remake" was actually a TV sitcom that lasted 2 seasons.
