[WOTD] Erika redesign - Part 1: Concept

In this post, we’ll begin the redesign process of our favorite nurse, Erika.

In a way, it’s a relief to have finished the redesigns of Jill and Rachel, as their hair colors have given me more headaches than usual. For now, Erika’s hair shouldn’t be as much of a challenge. That said, after Erika, we still have Maria, Ceina, and Satanichia (wow, all four of them are blondes!). Although I can delay Maria’s redesign for later, since I plan not to reveal her appearance or existence at the beginning of the remake, Ceina and Satanichia’s redesigns are quite an intimidating task, especially the one for the main antagonist.

Erika is a woman in her 30s who works as a nurse at Lionheart Academy. She has two sisters who we get to meet throughout the story, and she’s also the aunt of another main girl, Asagi. She’s one of the first characters we meet, and, given the "nature" of the other girls, we could say that, in a way, Erika is the only potential partner for Clyde who could be considered "completely normal."

Physically, Erika isn’t as athletic as her niece, but she keeps herself in good shape. Like Jill, Erika is a voluptuous woman and taller than average.

So far, the story hasn’t delved into Erika’s "condition," which prevents her from getting pregnant. Although we can learn a bit more about her if we focus on her route, I feel that Erika lacks a "passion" that would make up part of her personality. I’ll talk more about this idea I have in mind in the next part of this process.

Here are some references that I will take as inspiration for her new look!

As with the other redesigns, here I’ll aim to enhance Erika’s characteristics and virtues, making her look more beautiful and attractive. I enjoy playing with the idea of Erika having the appearance of a "lustful nurse," but as we get to know her better, we understand that behind that "striking" appearance, there’s a very intelligent and also vulnerable woman.

In the original design, the idea was for Erika to have "slanted" eyes, similar to Asagi and Zaira. In the redesign, I’ll aim to make her eyes look even more slanted, fine, and feminine.

As I mentioned before, Erika’s body is voluptuous, athletic, and slender, and that’s something I want to highlight in the redesign. Although, I don’t think her thighs should be larger than Jill’s or Rachel’s.

I want to thank this wonderful user and patreon who, a few months ago, shared some beautiful images of Erika in a more realistic version. What impressed me the most, and continues to impress me, is how well that hairstyle suits Erika, so I’ll try to give her that style in the redesign. Maybe I can add more length or volume, as I did with Rachel and Siri’s hair.

En este post iniciaremos el proceso de rediseño de nuestra enfermera favorita, Erika.

De cierta manera, es un alivio haber finalizado los rediseños de Jill y Rachel, ya que los colores de sus cabellos me han dado más dolores de cabeza de lo habitual. Por ahora, el cabello de Erika no debería darme tantos problemas. Eso sí, después de Erika, quedan Maria, Ceina y Satanichia (vaya, ¡las cuatro son rubias!). Si bien puedo posponer el rediseño de Maria hasta más adelante, ya que planeo no revelar su apariencia o existencia al inicio del remake, los rediseños de Ceina y Satanichia son un desafío bastante intimidante, especialmente el de la antagonista principal.

Erika es una mujer de unos 30 años que trabaja como enfermera en la Academia Lionheart. Tiene dos hermanas que conocemos a lo largo de la historia y, además, es tía de otra de las chicas principales, Asagi. También es una de las primeras chicas que podemos conocer, y, dada la "naturaleza" de las demás chicas, podríamos decir que, en cierto sentido, Erika es la única posible pareja de Clyde que sería "completamente normal".

En cuanto a su físico, Erika no es tan atlética como su sobrina, sin embargo, mantiene su cuerpo en buena forma. Al igual que Jill, Erika es una mujer voluptuosa y de una estatura mayor al promedio.

Hasta ahora, en la historia no se ha profundizado en la "condición" de Erika, que le impide quedar embarazada. Aunque podemos conocer un poco más sobre ella si nos enfocamos en su ruta, creo que a Erika le falta una "pasión" que forme parte de su personalidad, pero les hablaré sobre esa idea que tengo en mente en la siguiente parte de este proceso.

¡Aquí les dejo algunas referencias que tomaré como inspiración para su nueva apariencia!

Al igual que con los demás rediseños, aquí buscaré potenciar las características y virtudes de Erika, haciéndola ver más bonita y atractiva. Me gusta jugar con la idea de que Erika tenga el aspecto de una "enfermera lujuriosa", pero, a medida que la conocemos mejor, podemos entender que, detrás de esa apariencia tan "llamativa", hay una mujer muy inteligente y también vulnerable.

En el diseño original, la idea era que Erika tuviera los ojos "rasgados", de manera similar a Asagi y Zaira. En el rediseño, buscaré hacer que sus ojos se vean aún más rasgados, finos y femeninos.

Como mencioné antes, el cuerpo de Erika es voluptuoso, atlético y esbelto, y eso es algo que quiero resaltar en el rediseño. Aunque no creo que deba tener muslos más grandes que los de Jill o Rachel.

Quiero agradecer a este magnífico usuario y patreon que, hace unos meses, compartió unas hermosas imágenes de Erika en una versión más realista. Lo que más me impresionó, y sigue impresionándome, es lo bien que le queda ese peinado a Erika, así que intentaré darle ese estilo en el rediseño. Tal vez pueda añadirle más longitud o volumen, como hice con el cabello de Rachel y Siri.
