in NYC nobody bugs famous ppl. Ryan Reynolds and Scarlet Johansen were once enjoying drinks at a table in a bar i would frequent and we were like "Oh wow they're good looking. Anyway, let's get drinks."
Movies are shot there all the time, tons of concerts, musicians, athletes are always around. The UN is there. We all have somewhere to go and we're all too tired to care about the fifth billionare or celebrity you've seen today. and there just isn't room or time for tourists to clog up the sidewalks and subway platforms.
it is also really easy to disappear in NYC. Just get in a black car and you're basically invisible.

Could have something to do with timing. I mean people are probably working or at school.
Them enjoying food makes me wish I wasn’t such a picky eater 😣

I feel like it might be similar to Tokyo. Pretty much all the famous people live in or spend most of their time in Tokyo, and it’s common to see them because they do a lot of variety show content out and about, but people generally like to give them space and they worry that talking to them will be bothersome. I’ve seen content in Japan where idols will go out in disguise and they’re only allowed to stay out until someone recognizes and talks to them, and you can tell people recognize them but don’t say anything. And even when someone does, they’re very hush hush about it and try not to make a scene. I’ve also experienced running into tv shootings in Tokyo, and there were people kinda farther away asking us not to go close and to go around. I don’t live in Seoul so I can’t say but I just feel like maybe it gives off similar vibes? I’m curious to know too though so I hope someone Korean can tell us!
