2024-05-14 19:53:08 +0000 UTCFyi, when it aired, I saw a lot of responses from many viewers who said they could not focus on the storyline of the main characters because they were uncomfortable with the story which continues for a long time while hinting at romantic feelings between a minor and an adult. Even in Korea. So it seems that many viewers ended up shipping characters other than the main character. I'm not a fan of this drama and I don't even ship Yurim and Heedo. But I think it’s better to support unofficial ship than implication of sexual tension between minor and adult.

In every drama or movie, there are many viewers who support and like character relationships that the writers did not intend, and the creators have no problem with them at all. Is this your first time watching a drama? Why do you think we should only react the way the author intended? They don't even teach that in language classes at school. 2) Shipping them doesn't ignore the main plot. Where is the logic? 3) In reality, most people are heterosexual? Do you have a source? Don't make it a statistic just because that no one came out to you. It is wrong to just assume that someone is heterosexual when they haven't said so. I'm not American. 4) They are fictional characters. No one gets hurt. 5) In reality, there are more fictional stories with intentionally ambiguous queer keywords than you might think. Even if it is not the main plot, there is a lot of content that gives room and hints in an informal way. In many cases, what appears to be non-official is the author's intention. This doesn't only apply to romance, but often vaguely hints at a variety of things. There are many people in the world who go further than just understanding and admiring direct and intuitive stories and enjoy content in a variety of ways. 6) Would you have left a comment like this if they had shipped a heterosexual couple? Your argument is simply an expression of your hatred as a homophobe. You're like, 'I've never discussed a fictional creation with a friend in my life, and I'm seeing viewers' reactions for the first time in my life.' Your comment sounds like it was written by someone from another planet. I tried to ignore it, but it was really ridiculous and I thought my explanation might help your future, so I left a comment. English is not my first language so please understand if my English is awkward and sharp.

And may I ask, did they force you to pay for the subscription? Before paying, didn't you do your research to see if this reactor is the type you would enjoy? If you really dislike them, then unsubscribe. I truly don't understand subscribing to a reactor whose values differ from yours, and then getting angry because they don't meet your expectations. Please go subscribe to others instead. Reaction videos are meant to showcase genuine reactions. 2024-05-14 15:25:58 +0000 UTCSo many comments but let’s clarify this. 1) there is no any sub context in their romantic relationships, no scene where they have shown sexual tensions between them, one person literally hated the other for 7 episodes straight😂 so how can you say that writers intended it? It’s just people like you who loves shipping straight people and making them gay in your head 2) shipping them means ignoring one of the main plot lines of the show which is “love(or rainbow)” between two main characters that is so beautiful and inspiring 3) and I’m sorry but even though they did not say about their sexuality, plot of the series shows that they are both in love with each other, and it annoys me that instead of pointing out creative directing decisions, editing style, main characters’ chemistry, acting of Kim taeri and Nam joohyuk, storyline, fencing games, all I hear is shipping between two character which is not part of the show 4) reality is that you exploited this show to earn money. I have paid to watch the show with you hoping to see your perspective on this great show but what I see is shipping, you want the characters to be gay, I get that but reality is that most people are heterosexual and these characters, too. And your argument “don’t assume sexuality” is the most American thing possible😂

If not, then check out how much Heedo-Yurim contents there are on every platform and see for yourself. That's how you know the writers intended for it to come off that way! Even the actors acknowledge that! In one interview, Bona even said that their drama has a lot of non-gender specific parts. Quit yapping and let people enjoy things!! 🤦🏻♀️

This is a fictional work with fictional characters. If we see a connection between the girls it is perfectly acceptable for us to react to it that way. It is how the show is scripted in our eyes that makes us want them together. We watched tons of shows in our lifetime. The creators even if unknowingly or unintended made a storyline where many people see it the way we see it. Also please don't pretend you're being respectable when you are the one assuming sexuality. Not at any point did they say they were heterosexual. Straight until told otherwise is also an assumption.

I think it's pretty clear how much they like & love the show and have expressed their appreciation for all the characters. While I don't always agree with K&H on other shows they've watched, it is a common viewer experience for this show to see the subtext there, because it is not even subtle. Like how when Ji Woong expressed to Heedo that he liked Yurim in earlier episodes, she replies back with "I like her more than you do." With the context of the conversation, and many more dialouge and directional choices, it is hard not to see the baiting. Even the casts has "shipped" Heedo and Yurim. It is also not uncommon for shows or media to have queer-coded plots or intentions, it's just the way it is (given the setting of the story in the 90s, and the target audience of South Korea), especially if they want a wider audience. So they can pander to everyone. Regardless of any specific viewer's take-away, there are MANY other plot points in the show that we can appreciate ie the family dynamics and friendships without dictating what other people should or should not do like telling them to stop with the shipping. TLDR, Let people enjoy things and take away what they take away.

As much as I would have loved a romance betwin Hee Do and Yu Rim I love all the relationship in this drama as it is, Hee Do and Yi Jin could seem wrong, but nothing ever crossed the line at the moment, they just expressed how much they love being around each other and if it happens later it is okay too
