So definitely Aleysa and Raivis and Mara are child hood friends! Raivis more, Mara was introduced to Aksana as a potential friend, but she drifted to Sasha, Aleysa was always there but they became friends at 13.

Sikander and Trajan came later. Sikander arrived just before the Royal left and Trajan is going to be the only new face to them.

Raivis became friends with Sasha because Marlen and Rai's father were friends, and they were always near. The only two on the hunt with all the older hunters. Two peas in a pod. Mara came later. Set up with Aksana and some others on a play date, and Mara wandered off. Found Rai trying to show Sasha he could bite hard enough to draw blood. Sasha screeching every now and then. Mara offered to take over and did finally draw some of Sasha's blood. Best friends ever since.

Aleysa came along later. She was a friend Tatsiana had insisted Sasha should make, since she herself was very close with her most importants dukes and duchesses. Sasha dragged their feet about it, but out of all the children of the dukedoms, they only grew to like Aleysa. Mainly because they had seen her jab her fingernail into a horse's side right at the correct time for it to kick one of her rivals. Said rival now needs a cane. Sasha found it attractive and they continued on to date a bit before preferring friendship. Which, now, Aleysa jokes was her worst decision, since it was right before they were announced second in line for the Czardom.

Sikander and Trajan were oddities. One from the far north, one from much further East. Sikander more or less chose Sasha. Was introduced to all the big hot shots of the court, along with their parents. Sikander was introduced to the children of all the important nobles, along with the Tsarina's children. And they simply decided on Sasha. Engaged them in interesting, slightly snarky conversation, and within an hour, over chai and baklava, Sasha couldn't imagine NOT ushering them into their group.

Trajan was... A special case. You could say the family had somewhat... Adopted them into their dynamic? After silence from Pavel for too long, a refugee from so far in the North, exactly the territories that Pavel had been reported to be patrolling? Well, Trajan, and his surviving mother and sister, were ushered in. They brought news, information and dread. Tatsiana wanted her own family to look out for them, with the eventual plan for them to move further, along to Magyar or Almany. However, they proved to become quite dear to the court. Given an honorary title, of Baroness, his mother never left, her daughter was deemed to inherit the title and Trajan had been a favourite of Tatsiana's ever since. Rumours were that he was the most likely to be married to one of her children. Sasha and Trajan were pushed together slightly, but things cooled when it was clear they were happy as friends and instead, Tatsiana is currently overlooking who to set Trajan up with. There is no doubt that Sasha wishes to give him a place at their court when they finally inherit the crown. Despite Sasha's sometimes spiteful feelings towards Pavel, they care a lot about him, so Trajan and them saw a lot of each other. Friendship was solidified when Trajan was the only one who dared to ever beat them in a spar. The rest is history.
