READ ❥ IMPORTANT UPDATE
Added 2024-08-12 16:57:10 +0000 UTCI was notified through email about those changes (upcoming) and wanted to make this post beforehand, so everyone could be prepared. Text below was copied from Patreon News Page:
"Apple is requiring that Patreon switch to their iOS in-app purchase system starting this November, or risk being removed from the App Store. Here’s what’s coming, and what we can do about it.
Apple’s requirements
As Patreon first announced last year, Apple is requiring that Patreon use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024.
This has two major consequences for creators:
Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
Any creator currently on first-of-the-month or per-creation billing plans will have to switch over to subscription billing to continue earning in the iOS app, because that’s the only billing type Apple’s in-app purchase system supports.
Before we go any further, Patreon wants to be crystal clear about one thing: Apple’s fee will not impact my existing members. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November onward."
So, this is not a huge change for existing members, but it can give some extra answers for iOS users! I hope that it will be helpful guys ♥
Basically, my plan will be switched automatically to Subscription Billing Type (for all users) from November 2024 without any other option.

Yeah I agree. At least glad that we will still have an option to pay a normal price through web! And for sure, sharing is caring, ya'll are like my family so I care about ya'll <3

2024-08-12 22:25:23 +0000 UTCYeah I agree, that fee is HUGE. More sadly - that Patreon really can't do anything about it. At least, as I have read about, "If a member signs up before November 4, 2024, their ongoing membership won't be impacted by the Apple fee. New members who sign up in the iOS app after November 4, 2024, may be charged a higher price in iOS for their membership since Apple charges a 30% processing fee. Creators control how the Apple App Store fee is applied to the price of their membership tiers, which means price differences may vary from creator to creator." Plus, all users will be able still to Pledge/Purchase through Wed and Android options, where prices will be remains the same as they are now! So we will have something little good in it still :3

2024-08-12 17:23:03 +0000 UTCThis sounds like something that should be illegal for companies to do.. I'm really happy I'm mostly an android user. I wish luck to all the apple users. I hope you're still able to do memberships through a browser to avoid that ridiculous fee. <3
