Starting on Animation and Renders this week
There's a lot that goes into each release. All of her dialogue has been written and incorporated, as have her jobs and missions.
Even though you've seen her walking around, there's still a lot of details that Lois needs, like the ability to open her mouth, get into poses, along with more animations and facial emotions.
Blendshapes are one of the possible solutions to making characters talk or fix issues that usually popup when posing a character in certain positions.
Typically, animating and fixing these things handled either through more Rig controls, or through Blendshapes. Edgeville actually uses both solutions - one for realtime and one for rendered scenes, since you'll encounter both at some point.
If you want to know more about the technical details, please let me know. I could always dedicate some posts to technical information.
Yes, Lois is actually moving along nicely, with little surprises.
This is a testament regarding how much work has gone into Edgeville, from streamlining the design and development process to the technical tricks that I've created along the way.
And considering this release will not include new features, I can concentrate JUST on the content.

I don't want to jinx myself with a release date - for some reason that's happened with a lot of the last releases, so suffice to say that I'm working on Lois, and I'm currently moving into the last phase of development for characters: animation and rendering.
Rendering takes a LOT of processing power and uses up my computer.
This was such a huge deal that I had to do some weird editing for Dexter's mom just to get it done on time. I didn't like the way that looked, so I'll be rendering the full animation without cutting corners.
This will produce a better result but will take longer development.
