2023-09-06 09:50:41 +0000 UTCso fun rewatching these episodes alongside your reactions! so glad u finally met Azure! looking back at this, it's interesting to note that all of the ink versions in episode 1 had distorted voices except for The Great Monk's. we can clearly hear him say "Monkey, no violence" (while ink Nezha was attacking) and is the only one Monkey King acknowledges and responds to with a terrified "No!!!" (i believe he was responding to that instead of the attack cause he literally doesnt try to dodge). In episode 2, the original companions have little to no distortions in their voices either. -> i dont consider this a spoiler as it is just general monkey king lore and has not been addressed in the show so far: but the golden circlet that Monkey King is iconic for isn't actually a cool crown or anything, it's a device used to punish him whenever he breaks The Great Monk's "no killing" rule. The Monk would recite a spell that would tighten the circlet around his skull and give him a migraine. I wonder if in this show, their version of the migraine spell is activated by a simple phrase such as "Monkey, no violence" π€π€ if so, that reaction monkey king had in ep 1 makes a lot of sense Also, Billy Kametz was Macaque's old VA. The new one is Alejandro Saab, who im p sure is also a VTuber on the side lol

Inner thoughts of just want to do one off adventure again instead of world ending events but sadly that didnβt happen and now itβs up to M.K and Mei to save thier friends back in the past,now I will say that the memories Scroll was a amazing way to show us glimpse of the past of the journey to the west story and Iβm hype to see this go BEYOND(Fun fact Azura lion is the same voice of ALL MIGHT/VEGETA/PICCOLO),also I will alwasy love the Doe of M.K. And Mei because with then having each other back,there nothing that can stop them and I canβt wait to see more,and hope you have a great night and rest wellπ§‘πΈπ¦π

2023-09-06 00:35:34 +0000 UTCIf no one has said it yet: Billy Kametz voiced Macaque! He passed away in 2022. He only recorded up to episode 2 of season 4, so this episode was the last time we hear him as Macaque. He was an incredibly talented voice actor, and he really made Macaque the best ever!
