Added 2025-06-12 15:52:49 +0000 UTCI think "Willow" might have been my introduction to "Tolkienesque" fantasy. I certainly watched it before I'd even HEARD of "The Hobbit" or "Lord of the Rings", and the cartoons of the day - at least those that I watched - were mostly science fiction, so "Willow" was a pretty unique thing to my young eyes. It introduced me to that medieval flavour of fiction.
