Friday piano meditation - no. 42 (Fingertips - instrumental version)

Hey again 🌞 as mentioned earlier today I'm back home in Vienna and happy to have had a calmer week so far. Over the last month there was so much going on - since I came back a month ago my partner's family has been visiting us (we've been seven people in the flat all together!), I've had intense studio days with Max Nitsch and then spent a week on a boat with 12 people. Lots of social interaction - and as much as I love that, as much I notice afterwards how drained I am as well. I'm just craving alone time and silence right now. You might feel that in the piano piece I share with you today, it's very gentle and delicate. I've written it a couple of months ago, also put some lyrics on it, but I wanted to play it without singing to it now, the piano melody is also beautiful on its own. Ironically the lyrics are about how I don't wanna be alone and how much I'd love some company, cause when I wrote it my flat was very empty and cold (late February in Vienna be like) - maybe that's why I didn't want to sing them now, haha.

But what has changed in the past month? Well, first of all I've watered my old laptop two weeks ago, with a big big glass of water right on top of the keyboard. Haven't done that ever, it was a first, but unfortunately that killed the last bit of that old battery... It was a very old Macbook, which I bought second hand more than eight years ago and it's been dying for the last three. I tried to postpone buying a new one as much as possible, but it was about time anyway. So today, for the first time I text you on my new (also second hand) Macbook - and it's so faaaaast! I feel so productive out of a sudden, haha, but I also spent a lot of money on it.

Then last Friday my third Single got released! 'Deep Blue Water' online everywhere now for you to listen, on Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Bandcamp etc. There was no long decision making for the cover because that one has been set since day 1 (the polaroid was taken by Oliver Look in 2023). I made a couple of blue edits but it was a fast choice on my side and I'm very happy with it, love the looks of it and it just fits perfectly to the song.
You can listen to it here https://tidal.com/browse/track/441145835?u 💙

On another note - I changed my streaming platform because I don't want to consume music on Spotify any longer. It exploits especially smaller artists (like me) so much and in addition indirectly supports war drones (the one CEO just invested more than 600€ mio. into an A.I military drone company https://www.thefader.com/2025/06/20/spotify-daniel-ek-helsing-investment it's surreal). I get on average 0,003$-0,005$ per stream only (https://dittomusic.com/en/blog/how-much-does-spotify-pay-per-stream ) and only if my song gets played for at least 30 sec, you can do the math... It's pretty much nothing. That's why I switched to Tidal now (which pays on average 0,013$), of course it's still not perfect, but so much better. And I really don't want to indirectly support military weapon companies with listening to my favorite music. If you haven't yet, maybe think about a better alternative as well (it's not even expensive, I have a family account with 6 people on Tidal now and everyone just pays 3€ per month!). Would be much appreciated really.

Sorry for the heavy topic and all this information in the end - I hope you enjoy listening to my new song or this calm piano piece. Have a wonderful weekend and talk to you soon!

Thanks for all your support 🌻

xx
