Thank you! We really tried to add a lot of details to Yalee’s flashback sequence, so it’s awesome to hear that they were picked up on and acknowledged! We worked especially hard to get that more ‘resolved’ look on Yalee’s face at the end—both Salaiix and myself are thrilled to know that it came across as we had hoped! That feeling of Yalee shifting from being outright vengeful to a more controlled anger (while feeling justified) was something that I felt Salaiix pulled off beautifully with this framing sequence. 2025-03-07 20:10:35 +0000 UTCWhat's so great about this page is the use of the same framing 3 times (Yalee & Madison before the flashback, the flashback, and Yalee & Madison post flashback) with subtle facial tweaks from the first and third shot. Like in the first framing, Yalee's face is more 'vengeful' - she's in the throes of her anger & actively recalling her trauma & using it to justify her current behavior. Madison's squint in the first panel is also great; she's trying to get her bearings. You get the sense she's struggling with the effects Euphoria and only half-hearing Yalee. By the time the third panel happens, Yalee's face has gone to a more resolved expression. Basically what she'll do now to Madison isn't only coming from a place of anger but because Yalee also feels justified aka 'it's the right thing to do'. I actually love the above because it showcases how people talk themselves into participating in all kinds of things plus also is a great contrast to Madison & Reena who also do things because they believe it's the right thing to do (though as the heroines of the story, their POV is made more valid/righteous). Madison's expression in the third framing is harder to interpret. Her eyes are wider and her eyeline now matches up with Yalee but I also don't know how much she's processing through the Euphoria haze. But I love the subtlety in showing how the effects Euphoria and the sophomoric Xelohypnol she was dosed with (the slowed, sluggish reaction, the dazed look, etc) are messing with her. My compliments to the team. The execution in all the tiny things has been fantastic.
