Glitz & Glitter
Added 2023-06-22 15:02:45 +0000 UTCI just want to start this off with how much glitter is in my studio.. like, glitter will forever be in my studio. There will never not be glitter in the studio.
So if you come to the studio, just know you are leaving with glitter.
Anyways, haha! This session had to be rescheduled twice due to sickness and other life sorrows! But we finally made it happen. My model went to the carnival after this session, covered in glitter! So we basically polluted the entire world haha... Makeup and glitter was done by Makeup At Tiffany's!
For this session I wanted to play with shadows and highlights, which can be achieved while shooting, and perfected in editing! This is something I wanted to do to show myself mostly how far I have come! My work even as recent as January was void of shadow while shooting in studio! I had an intense fear of shadows and feeling like it would make my work seem incomplete. I have pushed myself so hard recently to go outside of my comfort zone. I love being comfortable, and maintaining routine.
I am always seeking growth for my art, and this growth meant abandoning routine. I think it was completely worth it. Something I have learned in photography, is there is always something to learn, there are always way to improve, and you are never done growing! A complacent photographer will fizzle out.
If you worked with me last year and then again, both albums will vibe beautiful, but you will see improvement!
My model is always such a joy to work with, she's just as beautiful inside as she is on the outside! I am always so excited to work with her. She is also so go with the flow, it makes sessions so relaxing!
I shot this with my Nikon D850 and my sigma art 50mm lens! I shot with lower ISO of 100 to allow all my light to come from the widow and give us deeper shadows! My Fstop was 2.0 I wanted to go lower, but with the light source I was afraid of losing quality! My shutter was at 250 because my model wasn't running around haha! You will up it for moving shots! I edited completely in Lightroom!
