Tightrope

Have you ever gone to the circus and watched a tightrope performance? The elegance in which they cross that vast space, on nothing but a measly rope. They may teeter, sway, but rarely fall. They have perfected the art of making a great task seem effortless.

That is what I imagine pre transition, and the time before you've spoken the words your souls screams must be like. The difficulty of everyday life, swaying through the emotions in public, falling apart behind closed doors, always having to get back up and continue the performance.

The series of photos you're viewing were such an honor to capture, of a truly extraordinary man. That I feel lucky enough to call friend.

We are going to let the images speak for themselves on the journey he has been trough in finding his true self.

I shot this set in my studio, the day after finishing my new black focal wall, so I was super excited to shoot with it! I feel like it really brought this whole session together, gave a nice manly touch for our model! When my model reached out months ago, we knew we wanted to wait until his top surgery was completed and healed! So when I got the message they were ready, I was so excited!

To be able to capture this huge step in their life was such an honor, It was one of my favorite sessions as well.

I shot this with my Nikon D850, and my Sigma Art 35mm, lens. ISO 200, Fstop 2.0 and shutter was 1/250, I used the window as my light source. It was over cast so I kept my ISO low to allow deep shadows, which I feel gave an appropriate depth to this session.

Fire was involved so we cracked the studio door, and I had a water bottle on hand haha.

It was honestly a really amazing session and really inspired my artistic soul.
