Early Monsters - Kathrang
Added 2018-05-02 05:48:46 +0000 UTCI THINK that was the name of this, anyway. This was another monster I came up with in my early teens and intended to be an iconic, core creature of my setting.
These were floating, elongated skull-like creatures with sharp edges and barbed tongues, which attacked by swinging and whirling like a living sword. They could also warp in and out of reality and were associated with a time-shifting ancient ruin.

Hmm the devolved ancient race reduced to beasts, or guardians left behind to protect the ruins, or intelligent beings beyond understanding?
