Mortasheen sketch - Painchild
Added 2017-02-24 19:35:03 +0000 UTCI actually saw this monster in a dream just days ago, in which it was actually supposed to be a new Digimon - and definitely fits with Digimon's artistic stylings.
So I sketched it out as a Mortasheen monster pretty quickly. "Painchild" is a play on "Brainchild" I haven't seen much (or found in anything too new or recent on google), but I'm not sure it fits or not.
I'm used to coming up with designs first and working backwards to give them a concept, so it's not too unusual that I don't have any powers in mind yet, but this monster does have a devilish and mystical air to it. I imagine it might manipulate pain response or emotion, or even be a firestarter.

2017-02-25 20:29:01 +0000 UTCUgh, it didn't let me write a second paragraph. Painchild reminds me of those bitey little amphipods because of the long antennae and the long legs and the ability you have in mind.
2017-02-24 21:55:12 +0000 UTCI don't know if it was intentional, but the rubbery-looking "suit" reminds me of either a copepod or an amphipod, with the long antennae (and the raptorial forelegs really remind me of some predatory amphipods). If you walk barefoot on the sandier beaches in Oregon, there is a smaller species of amphipod that lives in the wet sand close to the "waterline" (it follows the tide and seems to prefer staying under at least a few millimeters of water), and if they get on your feet, they sometimes confuse them for food and start biting! They aren't dangerous or anything, but the bites are surprisingly painful and annoying for such a small creature.
