I think the simplicity works

The back end seems bare and less interesting but you can fix that with interesting color patterns/textures if you wanted to keep the shape the same, which I enjoy reads so shark-y. Varying the positions of the fins (pairs are symmetrical with each other) is an oppurtunity to add some character acting and change up the silhouette a little bit more if you wanted.

I think it's pretty good how it is. I thought about suggesting adding more pairs of fins to make it look more like anomalocaris, but that might be tedious to draw and it might also make the megalodon parts less distinct. It might work, though.

I say a third pair of fins along the belly, between the pectoral fins and pelvic fins

I think that would be too much. Maybe carnosaur limbs fused with the front fins?

What I almost considered was carnosaur legs, to get three apex predators in one...but maybe that's too much? I do love walking sharks though

I'm usually a simpler-is-best kinda gal; I'd say this has everything it needs to look like a totally new weird creature!

I think it looks just fine. But if you wanted you could add a few other semi-fish staying near its side, to get protection and perhaps clean up its skin. I like the idea of its manifestation also bring its symbiotes along. But sweet work! I love it.

Wow! I think it's nearly perfect. I'm not sure I would change anything. Somehow I like this one even more than Carnogeist.

Both were Alex predators of their time, and the design just screams "instant classic", so I'd leave it as is. Or maybe make the tail a coelacanth's tail, I dunno.
