OOMAKASE Ep.2 Working files

There are times when a painting doesn’t appear deep enough.

In such cases, I think it’s good to check whether the dark areas of the painting are "sufficiently" dark.

The deepest parts of shadows or the darker areas of shadow can be made much darker, so I believe boldly deepening those parts is effective.

Similarly, it’s good to ensure the bright areas are sufficiently bright.

This includes highlights on illuminated parts or brightly lit areas.

By coloring this way, you automatically achieve contrast in your artwork, which enhances its overall impression.

However, the true charm of painting begins from this point onward.

The placement of bright and dark areas determines the direction of the viewer's gaze.

Therefore, it’s best to arrange light and shadow according to your intention—even if it somewhat violates the principles of light.
