Right on, Alana, I love that you share my affinity for baseless hot takes that are best said whenever a podcast begins to gain momentum, or become lighthearted. I’m not an expert of your Italian pedigree, but I agree: Subway has the better Italian food—obvious a close second to that Tuscan mainstay, Jersey Mikes. I also love that you add that chipotle sauce to complete a good, authentic Italian sub. The McDonald’s snack wrap you describe at the end on is another perfect example. Also, don’t lose heart—I along with a strong five or six others share your dream of replacing Coco—that cash grabby, Oscar-bait w/ an animated celebration of Italian-American life—of course, it’d have to be something other than Luca. I never go to the movies alone—I’m worried about your husband saying he did!—but if I had to, it would be for that movie. Imagine it: shoes & socks off, Five Guys fries spilling onto the floor, booing every trailer until the lights dim. My hero Silvio Burlesconi explodes onto the animated stage: “Yuck—I hate prosciutto! Let’s get real Italian! What a great guest!

Good Vegas Italian restaurants; “Italian American social club”, “Chicago joes”, and “Battistas Hole in the wall”. Very old establishments with mob roots possibly
