Relieving Tension (1)

Relieving Tension 1

Her gaze was fixed. She saw her prize, and yet, it wouldn’t be easy. Kanga stood alone in the aisle of a small grocery store eyeballing the chocolate covered pretzels… which were always at the top of the shelf. Even for a tall woman such as herself it was a reach. But rather than ignore her pregnancy cravings, she stood there mentally preparing herself.

The problem wasn’t so much that she couldn’t reach it, it was the fact that her belly had grown so tight she could feel her seams beginning to strain. Normal movements were mostly fine, though anything that applied pressure or tugged at them made her very aware of their limits. And while popping a seam wasn’t a danger per-say Kanga was still a bit self conscious about it happening in public.

“You can do this, it’s just a quick stretch”. She thought to herself. She looked both ways down the aisle again, still alone.

With a determined little growl she reached up, her seams immediately feeling the stretch, but she ignored this and kept going… so close… almost there!

*creeeeeeeeak!*

Kanga withdrew her paw quickly, darting it to her stomach. The crest of her belly had started to protest audibly it was enough to scare her back down. Rubbing over her swell though she could see she was OK, nothing had actually happened.

Kanga let out a breath, looking back up at the pretzels. She didn’t pop the first time, so she should be fine… right?

Her brow furrowed and she reached out again, and despite the creaking returning she kept going. Her paw brushed the bag… and tipped it over backwards!

“Oh come on!” She whispered to herself in a muffled but frustrated tone.

She reached up just a bit further, finding the bag again as it was obscured now, and just as she was about to grasp it she froze.

*pop… Pop… POP!… RRRIIIIPPPP!*

Kanga’s eyes widened as the crest of her belly split, the sound distinctive and loud. She recoiled yet again and blushed, covering the tear in hopes it wouldn’t split further. Luckily for her the tension had been relieved just enough to save her from a total spillage, but still… Her mind raced with thoughts, she had to just leave, she’d have to return home and fix herself before continuing her shopping. Just as she was about to turn however a sudden voice made her jolt and squeak in surprise!

“Miss, do you need help?”

Kanga turned her head wide eyed still, there stood a chunky looking dalmatian boy, a young man with spots spiraling along his fur and floppy ears atop his head.

“W-well, I uh…” Kanga stammered, her belly slightly turned away to try and hide her exposed stuffing. Living plushies were just a fact of life in this world, but it was understood there were certain unique experiences they could have. It wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary for the man to assume something had occurred, what with her giant round belly and all. Regardless, he paid no mind. Perhaps he was being polite, perhaps he was ignorant to the situation.

Either way, he reached up and casually grabbed the pretzels, offering them to her.

“Here, these are what you wanted right? Are they any good?”

Kanga relaxed a tiny bit, sensing how friendly the dog was. She let out a sigh of defeat, a strong blush on her face, and with one hand occupied holding her bag she was forced to remove the one from her tear and accept the pretzels. Only now could the dog see what had occurred.

“Oh! Aw, that was probably a bit hard to reach huh? Are you ok?”

Kanga let out another sigh as she dropped the snacks into her bag.

“Well, yes, but it’s a bit embarrassing, and I don’t have any way to fix this here. Thank you for helping, but I suppose I need to head home now.” She said in a defeated tone.

The dog tilted his head, his tail suddenly wagging.

“Oh, well, I have plenty of experience with plushies of my own… if you wanted I could tie you back up!”

Kanga’s mood lifted a bit, making eye contact with him for the first time.

“Really? I’d do it myself it’s just plushie hands aren’t exactly dexterous. But… if you’re offering, I suppose that’s ok.”

The dog smiled back up at her. He approached her belly, and gave it a soft pat.

“I’ll have you fixed in just a moment…”
