New Project Discussion

I have some ideas/options that I'm going to run through and I'd like to get your input on them. Please also leave any suggestions or requests you may have in the comments below!

Charcuterie

1. How would you guys like to see Charcuterie boards crafted? Should we make specific types of board combinations, like 'Pepperoni Mozzarella Board', or should we do boards based on a theme, like 'Pizza Night Board'?

2. What do you want to use these boards for in-game?

3. Is the crafting process the most important part for you, or is the aesthetic more important?

4. IF it were possible, would you prefer an object (like an empty board) where you could arrange single servings and custom make/decorate a charcuterie board, or would you prefer a normal recipe that gives you a party size board fully completed?

Nectar

I want to get an idea of what types of nectars you'd like to see! Please try to stick to ingredients I've already made, or that we already have in-game. This will give me more time to make more types of nectar :)

I think stackable board would be great. I would use it for parties and weddings. My sims dont like cooking, only eating. Just like me. 😋 I would also like to see finger food/small bites board and seafood platter (oysters etc) that function the same way. Regarding nectar, I was always wondering if anyone would ever do a nectar served in a different glasses then what we already have, something like glasses from Harrie's kitchen set. Thats the first thing I would do if i knew how to mod. 🙂

So glad I was able to re-subscribe to your Patreon in time for this. I've wanted charcuterie in the game for so long. Seeing this makes me so excited!

Hello! It sounds like you have amazing things in the works. I'm very excited for all of it, whichever way you decide to execute. Re: Charcuterie. Personally, I would prefer an empty board that can be stocked with individual servings. You have a lot of awesome products that are made in servings of 8, but are only used for one or two recipes, e.g. mascarpone cheese is only for tiramisu as far as I know. Each time my sim makes mascarpone cheese for one tiramisu cake, they end up making 8 cakes. The same goes for most of the other cheeses. A stockable board would be an awesome way to "use up" the spoilable cheese in a fun way. And/or use some of the beautiful BL harvestables that don't have recipes yet but are very useful for the garden. The most convenient way for it to work for the player, I think, is if the tray functioned similarly to the GTW bakery display case in that that it had slots to place servings and the tray *prolonged* the freshness of the servings as compared to sitting out on the counter. A covered charcuterie tray would be a fun thing to make and an awesome thing to sell in a GTW store, too. When not selling in a GTW store, I would use the charcuterie boards as something like pantry snacks in the house, appetizers on holidays, or something for clubs to pick at during meetings. Given that eating from the board did not fill much hunger. The crafting process is the most important part to me. I think it would be awesome (and life-accurate) if the charcuterie boards included some wild combination jellies/jams/marmalades/preserves. Cherry-lime, honeydew-chicory, blueberry-walnut. I've had jars of strange harvestable combos that were delightful with cheese. Re: Nectar. Amaretto can be made with the existing BL apricots or almonds. Amaretto is also used in some desserts, like amaretto-orange tiramisu and amaretto cream pie. And in mixed beverages. Amaretto seems to lend itself well to the existing BL realm of interest. Thanks for all you do. It's been a pleasure playing Sims 4 with your mods and CC. -Natalya (Eda's Blessing on Discord)

Nectar Ideas Hi Brazen! As always loving your content and becoming excited whenever you share ideas with us, thank you very much!😊 Something I’d like to see are more BG nectar recipes, I hate that in vanilla there’s this bulk type of nectars like “fruit nectar” and “berry nectar” because I’d absolutely love if each of the fruits we have had its own category, and that it was respected and labeled as such by the game. ... if possible the ability to make elderberry/huckleberry nectar? Which are berries we got in Outdoor Retreat. …And strange nectars like: cowberry nectar, bizarre nectar, UFO fruit nectar, quill fruit nectar, glow fruit nectar and all tree of emotion berries to be craftable as nectar? I don't know how implementable this is though! One more easily implementable thing would be spiced nectar recipes! Like, here in Germany they got Glühwein, I’m pretty sure we already have all the spices required to make that a viable recipe in game. Would love to see some spiced wines, meads and beer recipes from around the world :> ...Hope some of this helps inspire you!

I'm loving the charcuterie board idea! (probably because i am obsessed with cheese and cured meat products lol! and that is the first thing I start grabbing things from at any party lol!)... I think it would be cool to see several different types of boards of different combinations rather than themes. You could do a range, from like your basic peperoni and cheddar for a quick snack, to super boujee with all the things - I can see it now, brie, prosciutto, olives... - now i'm hungry. LOL

Such a cool idea! I would lean towards the names of the boards being based on the one or two most prominent ingredients on it. But I could definitely see certain specialty boards named by theme such as breakfast, sweets, seafood, or pizza (it could literally be an assortment of pizza bites, garlic knots, cheese bread, etc). I would probably use charcuterie boards most for events/parties or romantic dates.

Personally, I cater my game towards the rich and famous (no pun intended) so I would definitely be using the charcuterie and nectar objects religiously. A custom charcuterie board that can be restocked/customized by the sim would be great for party settings. I also would like to see smaller artisanal boards that can be ordered at restaurants. As far as nectar, I would like to see more expensive nectar options and nectars that can be purchased by the crate. A functional, stockable nectar rack would also be great to make wine cellars.

I love the crafting part of the process esp. for my chefs. I LOVE the idea of an arrangeable blank board. I also love board combo names over the themed.

ooooh a nectar pairing rabbit hole class to match nectar with foods, and the sim auto choose a nectar with the board...that's too much work lol nevermind. Matching with basemental and Kutto for the inebriation levels and fermentation

I like the ideas already presented. IT got me thinking of the board designs on the wood working table. fancy, a medieval, A common daily one. Small medium and large of each. Lots of bite sizes for the servings with like ten servings being able to fill the sim up, and a ruin dinner/full buff even. That way the possibility of the board size filling one sim up would not happen unless its the large board. Maybe small could be 10 servings, 20 for med, 30 for large/party size. I love the idea of choosing the foods to place on it, and the premade options to place in the grocery stores or prep. i like the idea of the themes, and maybe add the option for getting out of the fridge as a quick meal. Of course, start with the easiest with whatever you choose.

I love crafting objects. Anything that involves crafting is great.

I love the idea of being able to customize them in-game to suit different settings, so I also agree that making the board into a functional object with this in mind would be ideal (if it's feasible to make it this way). If not, having several different themes to choose from when making the recipe selection would also work well :) Because this would work so nicely with parties/events, aesthetics would be the important bit for me.

Regarding Nectar, if there's a way to incorporate your yeast from wheat into making wine/nectar that would be neat. I know Basemental does this if you buy their yeast in-game, but I'd rather use the yeast you can produce with your mods. I'm not sure how you would implement this. Regarding flavours/types of nectar... unfortunately I don't drink wine IRL, so I wouldn't know what's good.

Theme nights would be amazing, like a pizza night or movie night theme. Maybe even an after school theme one for kids. Personally, it's the anesthetics of it. A cutting board would be cool for it. And normal recipe would probably be best.

1 - I’d definitely prefer the first option. It gives more freedom of use. 2 - I’d like to use them for parties, weddings etc. I would love more items that only fill a small amount of hunger, so that they can eat several dishes in the style of banquet meals/party spreads etc. It would be great if the charcuterie board didn’t fill a lot of hunger. I don’t know if it’s possible, but if each serving can be eaten more quickly than a meal, in addition to a service providing just a small amount of hunger bar fill, they could eat a few servings, simulating a person “picking” at a charcuterie board. I hope that makes sense! 3 - Crafting element is always far more important than aesthetics, for me, personally. 4 - Perhaps not a board where you place items on, as this sounds like it might be quite fiddly and time-consuming. What I would love would be the ability to click on the board and choose which items are on it, almost like how you choose the items available on the restaurant menus. Again, I’ve no idea if that’s possible, though. I’m sorry this comment was so long, but I hope there’s something somewhat helpful in there! :)
