I'm SO happy to see that they've intentionally added some representation for Indigenous Culture in this pack!!!
Project Ideas:
So I want to focus in general on Indigenous American food and culture for the next project and any add-on content to the pack. More specifically I think I'd like focus on tribes of the Southwest and Plains since it seems like the new world is based around those environments.
I think this is going to work PERFECTLY with the new preserving skill. I've started fleshing it out already and I've even added a new preserving type!
I see they've added nectar making but lets refrain from talking about that just yet - I want to see how it works and then I'll put up a separate discussion on how you think I should incorporate that with my content.
Anyway, keeping all this in mind please let me know your thoughts and ideas in the comments below!

I echo the idea of Native American herbal remedies. What a cool idea! And there was a pottery mod out there in the Sims modding community, but it's broken and outdated. I'd like to see an update of that too. If that's something you're willing to do. As for Southwestern foods (non-native), it would be fun to see harvestable cactus fruit and things like prickly pear juice, agave, maybe tequila drink recipes, etc.

I found Sofkee but I'm having trouble with the Salmon Balls. Any info helps, even if you can remember some of the ingredients. And if there's any details you want me to try to include, like how it was served, I can try to incorporate that as well. Thanks!

My grandmother used to make them for me when I was a little girl, but I never learned how to cook them. We lived in a different part of the US, so I only saw her about three days a year for Thanksgiving.

2023-06-25 05:01:12 +0000 UTCI'm thinking about incorporating some basic pottery. Nothing extensive but maybe enough to make some functional objects like a tea set? Just brainstorming a little :) I for sure want to do corn husk doll crafting. Personal Story: Where I grew up there was a small farm down the street that had been there for generations and they used to sell us kids an ear of corn for ten cents. On the way home from school one day I stopped by to buy an ear of corn and the woman who owned the farm showed me how to make a corn husk doll like she said she used to make when she was little. After the corn harvest in the fall there would be a bunch of sun-dried husks that would blow down the street and get stuck in the bushes near my bus stop. I would gather them up while waiting for the school bus in the morning and stick them in my backpack. Then during my recess I'd use them to make corn husk dolls for the other kids at school and we played with them until they fell apart lol. These are some really fond memories for me so I want to try to bring a little of that to the game 😁

You pay such incredible attention to detail, and its evident how much thought goes into each and every mod you make. Thank you so much for all your hard work! It makes playing so much more enjoyable. I can't wait to see what you do next!

I'm really looking forward to this one since I've always liked horses and the country vibe makes me feel kind of at home (aside from the country music because I prefer rock). I'm originally from Oklahoma, so my real home has some Southwestern/Native American decor scattered around. I might even try to make my childhood home.

2023-06-23 09:00:22 +0000 UTCYou already have squash, beans, and corn. Could make a horno, it's an oven made out of earthen materials (mud/adobe). This topic is making me research what they ate and how they cooked. According to my family (and I need a DNA test to confirm) we have Tuscarora tribe in us so this is a neat way to connect. Need more berries chokecherry, bullberry, gooseberries, and a way to add buffalo, duck, and other wild animals as meat. Yeah, I'm reading as I'm going along. Lots of berries, wild rice, lots of different types of animal meat. There's a traditional stew "The Three Sisters" corn, squash, and beans. Kanuchi made from hickory nuts. Sunflowers, pinyon trees, acorns. Not that we have to "kill" the animals, but something like the wrapped red/white meat that is venison, buffalo, hare. Would you also be creating things for those in the arctic regions? If so, seal, whale, caribou meats, fish, fireweed.
