Random Questions Discussion
Added 2023-05-18 16:07:58 +0000 UTCI'd like to hear your thoughts on a few random things I've been mulling over.
Is Brazen Delivery sufficient for purchasing ingredients? If you feel like it's not, what other methods of purchasing options would you like to see?
How do you feel about preserving recipes so far? Do you like that everything has different aging/curing/drying times? Would you prefer them to share preserving times? (for example - all drying recipes take 6 hours to dry)
How are you liking the menu categories in the Cookbook & Craftbooks? Are there any additions or refinements you'd like to see?

the only problem i have with the current system is that the very long aging times are not in sync with the default progression of time over a sim's life. if you're playing with long lifespans that's one thing, but some items like vinegar can take generations to fully age on default settings. this also tanks the profitability of preserved items - why make butter or vinegar when you can sell the item for maybe a fraction of the price, but without the time and effort? i'd like to see some retuning to bring some of these times more in line with how sims age - maybe even a core setting to control how long items take to fully age.

I find that when custom recipes are separated out, I end up only making them and never make EA food. Plus having the EA food separated into your categories is great!

2023-05-19 16:09:47 +0000 UTCDo they make my custom teas? Is it just Base Game? Or is it both?

2023-05-19 15:48:45 +0000 UTCThe cheese should not lol, I'll take a look at that thanks for letting me know. Mailbox is probably the route I'll go because it makes more sense than having it magically appear in their inventory 😆

2023-05-19 11:53:48 +0000 UTCI agree with much of what’s said already. The different curing times etc is really nice variation (I noticed while play testing that the cheese wheels also cure in my sims’ inventory, not sure if that’s supposed to happen). On one hand I like the surprise of ‘is it ready yet’, but maybe notebook entries could be added to indicate the curing time along with the best curing method as mentioned above? I can see how it could be nice to have a no-tech alternative for the Brazen Delivery. Maybe through the mailbox where each store still only delivers on days that they are open on the phone, but, with the exception of the Express, you have to place the order a day beforehand? As for the cookbook, I like it as is. The only thing I would want to separate out is perhaps the ingredients, whipped cream/butter, doughs etc. I’ve mentioned this on Discord as well, I think a cute mixing bowl/mixer, like the KitchenAid or Smeg ones, as the recipe spawner for those would be so fun. Yay for functional kitchen ‘clutter’. Other than that, I like having your recipes along side the EA ones, it seems to make the fridge and stove interactions load faster for me.
2023-05-19 07:58:33 +0000 UTCYour Brazen Delivery is excellent. As for the time differences in ageing, curing, and drying, having different times is much better. The cookbook - your recipes are mixed with others. It would be better if you had a separate list.

2023-05-19 02:21:52 +0000 UTCAlso, someone requested another way to have orders delivered because you can't use your phone off-the-grid so I'm going to add an additional non-electricity option. Hopefully that will work for you :)

2023-05-19 02:05:30 +0000 UTCOh that's interesting, I didn't know that was a thing. I can take a look at it and see what I can do to fix that.

2023-05-19 01:51:46 +0000 UTCI actually love the way you have the aging system set up. e.g. tea curing. Would it be possible to have a setting where if you have Simple Living on that sims can't make any of your foods or drinks without the ingredients? Like I have your teapot mod on every save I play on. My sims go through the effort of making the tea leaves or coffee, but I look away for a second, and they spend money to make drinks when I have all the ingredients.

2023-05-18 21:51:13 +0000 UTCI have no complaints about the delivery services. I LOVE that they are only open some days, and only have some seasonal things sometimes, but the 24hr one has everything for more if I’m impatient. It’s so realistic! Perfect for a rags to riches. Doesn’t feel like cheating at all. The preserving mods are all great! They are my favorite, actually. I just love making tea and watching my sims enjoy their hard work. Things taking different amounts of time makes sense too. My only issue is that with things like the butter, I’ve realized that some things cure better off the shelving item, and I know some can cure just in the sun, but in game that’s only something I can figure out by trial and error. Could you add the places the items can cure (counter top, above/under ground, the shelf, sunlight, etc) to the deception somewhere As for the cookbooks, they are wonderful but I could honestly use a complete, unbroken list of all your lovely recipes somewhere in there, because I forget about some until there are updates that remind me I wanted to play with them. But that might just me my brain liking long lists.

2023-05-18 16:29:44 +0000 UTCFor some reason I cannot use Brazen Delivery. I am not sure if it conflicts with Icemunmun/LittleBowBub/Oni's recipes/delivery services that I have for them. However, I absolutely love your cookbook categories. They're so fun to click on and see seasonal recipes. It feels really satisfying during Autumn to make pie, for e.g. I would adore so much if you had the time to provide multiple variations of the visual cookbook, as in every house it does not fit aesthetically. I appreciate the different curing times as it makes it feel different and not mundane. (Side note, I abhor that most, if not all of the game's careers were made to have the same times) The preservation system is a really neat addition to gameplay. Thank you for the effort and time that you put into your mods.
