Is it just me, or does "makeup sex" evoke the image of a lipstick plunging into a jar of face cream and someone going "Ooh, I'm so moisturizing!"

So we're finally going to see Peggy's "origin story" as such. It'll have a little less levity than most pages, but I won't dwell on that stuff unnecessarily. Hopefully I don't screw up the military stuff too much. I've got a guy to run things by, but, you know, it's always the things you don't think to ask, like someone walking around with their BDU sleeves rolled up, or do snipers transport their rifles in a hard case to keep the sights from getting knocked around? The answer to that one is "Peggy does," because I've already drawn that page and I'm not changing it. The fact is I think they probably don't, because if you google "military rifle case" you get a bunch of pictures of rifles cases that look tacti-cool, but aren't, as far as I can tell, anything that's ever been used by any actual army. "actual military rifle case, like for real, not just crap painted olive green with stenciled lettering on it" doesn't produce better results.

I'd just like to point out the LOVELY attention to detail in making Dabbler's Hen have 4 wings. It reminds of of the joke about raising chickens at Chernobyl Farms because they'll have more drumsticks per bird.

Reason one: She's a soldier, meaning that it's almost inevitable that at some point in her future Someone's life will hang in the balance and that leg will directly or even indirectly be a factor in her ability to contribute to a situation favorably. I'm not saying necessarily that its going to be the actual thing that lets her help save someone vs them dying but every little bit contributes to the final outcome and even the tiniest factors can be massively important in those clutch situations. Reason two: For her fellows who aren't lucky enough to get alien tech prosthetics... She can still show that such technology Exists and that it Could become available to them in the future, near future even if Deus has his way. Cant imagine he would pass up the chance to recruit a bunch of veterans or experts in useful skills in exchange for getting them on the advanced trials from the new Machina Mettle line of bionic bits and bobs. And really if those friends of hers are gonna throw a stink just cause she got a leg before they could... they're not really her friends at all.

Humans apparently are handed because of the language facility, which has taken over a some of the brain area that would control your left hand. But Dabbler is not a product of evolution, the succubus part is explicitly designed (also possibly the doppelganger part, can't remember). How she ended up with four arms has not been revealed, but that species is unlikely to have had the same kludge to get language working. TLDR Dabbler is probably quadro-dextrous, and understands that bit of dialog intellectually at best.

2024-09-19 13:35:22 +0000 UTCHard cases are best for transport of rifles unless you have your rifle just constantly stored in the armory, which is base protocol for most people anyway unless deployed to a warzone in which case (no pun intended) your rifle is always on your person. Even in the crapper or the shower area...there's racks to put it in when you're in the shower or hooks to hang it from. Or you get a battle buddy to watch it for you.
