Wen's stepdad and mom are still together I think? The stepdad mentioned meeting the mom while she was still with bio dad. He asked her to make things final if she wanted them to be together, which she did.

I also have a disability being autistic, and although it's not the same as being deaf, it has affected the way I communicate with others and how I behave day to day my whole life. And for me, if my mum wasn't learning little things about how I do things and say things while growing up, and adjusting herself or helping me out with things, I legitimately probably wouldn't be here today. It is so important for disabled people to have a good support network within their family, even if it is just mainly a mum like me. Having a disability means most days you can feel extremely isolated and different from the majority of society and it can be very emotionally painful needing help with things you see other people your age doing by themselves easily, so it's ESPECIALLY important to be able to have a family member you're close with treat you like everyone else while also understanding your differences and embracing them. So when I first watched the series and saw how Heart's parents were kinda just pretending he didn't ever become deaf, I felt so bad for him. Not how parents should be acting at all.
