Yuki did commit suicide - Mafuyu found him hanging in his bedroom. They did barely show us Mafuyu staring upward, the top of Yuki's head above him, toes off the floor, stool knocked over. And Hiragii also said it in his inner monologue when he was trying to make up with Mafuyu on the rainy day. This overlaps the movie, so given's song is the song for the competition - the same one we already heard, that Mafuyu wrote pretty much for Ugetsu. It sounds very nice acapella. Uenoyama and Mafuyu are definitely the sweetest of the couples in the story.
