2024-07-16 06:28:51 +0000 UTCJapan is actually also one of the countries that are more open with showing queer relationships on screen, they have these cute type shows but it’s the same for their straight dramas. A lot of their queer shows and movies are actually quite open and graphic. Personally Japan does queer shows best (and movies, most of my favorite queer movies are from Japan) , because they often feel real from the emotions and the on screen representation (excluding the cutesy ones)

Also if you're interested in venturing into Thai BLs, for some others with serious/mature plots that aren't set in high school or university, I recommend Moonlight Chicken (slice of life, drama), Manner of Death (murder mystery), A Tale of 1000 Stars (drama, slice of life), Last Twilight (slice of life, drama, disability representation), I Feel You Linger In The Air (historical fiction, supernatural elements), and Not Me (social commentary, mystery).
